You also rush a Warmog's Armor, and by doing so, lose out on a ton of potential early AP. Vlad doesn't really need survivability early on. His Q lets him stay alive forever, and he really only needs health/MR/armor when the game's gotten to the point that he can no longer heal himself back to full with Q. Consider also that more AP early game translates to a larger heal on your Transfusion. 3000 gold on extra health and 40 AP really isn't going to compare with 3000 gold on a slow, health, 80 AP, and then the bonuses from your passive (referring to Rylai's here). Speaking of which, I also feel that you get Rylai's much too late, as it's a key item on Vladimir.
Sorry mate, but comparing it to other guides and my exp. of playing Vlad and seeing Fail Vladimirs, this one would actually fail. About the heal: so what? Early game it saves you, then you have almost an empty spell giving you nothing, a total loss of slot to be honest, each better Vlad player willl tell you so.
