@ SpartanDumpster:
One scary movie that still haunts me is the Korean movie "I Saw the Devil". I'll avoid any spoilers, but for the most part, it isn't what you would expect in multiple ways. The only thing I'll say, since it can be obvious from a few minutes in, while the title could make you assume it's a supernatural story, it's more grounded in reality and that title "I Saw the Devil" is applied more figuratively. It's the type of film that could leave you with conflicting emotions, and is undoubtedly disturbing. It being in Korean is a bit of a twisted coincidence, because you can't look away since you need to read the subtitles, unless you can speak and/or understand Korean.

Also, just because I'd like to suggest a more traditionally spooky or scary Halloween movie, I am really fond of the Friday the 13th series. I especially like parts 2 and 3 because Jason isn't written as much of a supernatural being yet, and I do find that a bit more interesting in a horror movie killer or monster. It might be due to that more realistic nature and circumstance with having the villain be a regular person or something you could encounter. I'm reminded now of how my dad has told me that when Jaws came out in theaters, beaches were just empty that whole summer, people he knew that would go to the beach every year didn't go after seeing that movie, but that wouldn't have happened if it was a made up sea creature or a ghost shark or anything else like that. The same applies to those earlier Friday the 13th movies, I could see summer camps having much fewer applicants after those movies came out, because who's to say no crazy guy is hiding out in the woods, ready to murder some unsuspecting, isolated camp counselors. That's scarier as a real world possibility unlike encountering an unkillable monster man.

Fun Halloween Story - Since Halloween 2018, I've been hosting Minecraft UHC(s) based on various themes (Winter Wonderland, Valentine's, Under The Sea, etc) including custom map generation, caves, recipes, etc. On the night of our first UHC "The Halloween Ball", we began our first UHC. Well almost. When we started both me and my partner (who is also oped) died instantly upon starting the UHC. Turns out our "Trick or Treat" mechanic failed causing us to explode and when we went to spawn it was covered in chickens that were falling from the sky. It was a very good first UHC to start off with (as of Saturday we have held 12 UHCs to date).

Favorite Halloween Candy - My favorite Halloween candy was Now and Laters, which is a tafy like candy that can either be hard or soft when you receive it. It's the most memorable candy I had on Halloween as one time it was so hard I lost a tooth as a kid to it on Halloween night. Don't worry it was painless, and didn't even realize till I looked down at it and saw my tooth sticking out of it.

Favorite Scary Movie - For full transparency, I'm not the biggest fan of horror movies in general as I'm easily squeamish. The whole reason I watched any horror movies was that I was cast in a horror short film years ago and I wanted to study for my role. My favorite Halloween/Horror movie is between Scream and Halloween. Halloween specifically has one of my favorite actresses, Jamie Lee Curtis who played Laurie Strode. If I had to pick one I'd have to go with Halloween.

This was back when I was in 4th grade. I was trick-or-treating with my friend and one of the houses had the kids walk into their Halloween themed backyard to get the candy. We walked up the path in their backyard which led to a random Frankenstein mannequin just standing there. It was really dark at the time so we could not see the candy stash nestled in Frankenstein's arms. As my buddy and I were frantically looking around for the candy, their swimming pool caught my eye. I half-jokingly told my friend, "yo let's jump into the pool, nobodies here." To my disappointment, he did not hear me because he was too busy loudly repeating the same phrase: "WHERE'S THE CANDEH".

We've eventually concluded that "their backyard was a scam" and so we announced to ourselves that we'd just leave, but then, out of nowhere, a 3rd voice said, "Uh, the candy's right here". I screamed my pre-puberty scream and then we looked around. The Frankenstein was gesturing towards the candy-filled plastic cauldron in his arms. Turns out the Frankenstein mannequin was a dude in a costume and he witnessed everything.

This was really embarrassing for me and I'm sure the Frankenstein guy felt awkward about it too.

Not so much a movie but i recently watched The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Haunting of Hill House.

Usually scary movies are a little too scary for me and I really went out of my comfort zone to watch these scary series. But! it turns out although there were a few scary parts, the series themselves were actually freaking amazing!

So for the past week all i was dreaming of were these faceless people from The Haunting of Bly Manor. Even though they weren't THAT scary for some reason it still freaked me out and i was thinking about it A LOT.

So during the week i woke up from one of these dreams of this woman with no face DRAGGING ME TO A LAKE. And i really needed to pee. So something you need to know is i have a HUGE irrational fear of looking into mirrors at night. call it too many scary movies where there's ALWAYS SOMETHING IN THE DAMN MIRROR.

So i walked downstairs to go the loo and i didn't bother turning on the lights because i was gonna be quick. so I went to wash my hands and for some reason this time i decided to look up at the mirror in front of me.

THERE WAS A FREAKING FACELESS FACE BEHIND ME!!!

Good lord I've never run so fast in my life. My cat, thinking something was after us, darted behind me up the stairs. nearly tripping me in the process. I just sat on my bed for a good 10 minutes feeling my heart race. NAH FAM I'm not going back downstairs again.

So eventually morning comes and I've forgotten about the whole faceless thing and I go to my bathroom. As I'm brushing my teeth i look into the mirror and get ANOTHER heart attack.

THE FACELESS FACE!

But no, i was INFACT, losing my marbles. Because what I thought was a faceless woman was actually a facemask I'd hung over the towels to dry. xD

Ive never felt so silly in my life hahahaha!!

Hope you enjoy my story! xD

Sadly Halloween is not that big of a deal where I live, but I still love it nonetheless! For me, there's no better way to enjoy it other than getting all those unique sweets that are around this time of the year. It's really hard to choose just one, but I'd say I enjoy Kit Kats the most since there are just sooo many amazing flavors. Apple pie is my current favourite, it fits my "fall mood" and it's just perfect.

To all the Kit Kat lovers out there, I highly recommend trying them from Japan. They have so many varieties and they are all so delicious!
Happy Halloween! 🎃

Hmm, well its not really a fun memory but its certainly spooky and was around the time of Halloween. Back a few years ago in an old house my family was renting me and my sister stayed home while everyone else went out to the store, my sister thought she heard something whispering and blowing through the door that lead to the basement in our kitchen, I thought she was just being paranoid plus I didn't want to go down there anyway since there was a nest of spiders. About an hour later I heard my a thud from downstairs and thought it was one of the boxes falling over. But when I looked around for my sister to ask her to come down with me to find out what happened I couldn't find her upstairs or in any of the other rooms, she didn't go outside since I was watching both doors(Mind you the front and back doors were in my vision and I would hear them since they creak, the basement kitchen door doesn't creak but it usually thuds against the wall when its opened unless you carefully shut it behind you)so being confused and annoyed I went downstairs by myself to check what happened, when I came down all I saw was my sister laying curled up on the floor and crying and a creepy whisper, I got really freaked out and picked up my sister and ran back upstairs. When my sister woke up she swore that a ghost had picked her up and started to choke her before tossing her into a bunch of boxes and laughing, I still didn't believe it but I wasn't about to go back down there to check if she was really right. So me and my sister never went back down into that basement ever again. Honestly though it could have just been my sister pulling a really elaborate prank on me and I would never know, though I dunno. Phew. I don't really have any fun memories but hopefully a spooky story near Halloween during my life will suffice!

@ Garkk0l
In my opinion, the best horror movie of all time is The Shining. It is an absolute masterpiece, Jack Nicholson had an incredible performance, keeping you on the edge of the seat. It is the kind of movie that haunts even after finishing it. Absolute masterpiece.

My favorite Halloween candies are some eye-shaped jellies filled with sour sauce.
I don't know how they are called, but they have a great taste.

I also have a funny story that happened a few years ago. I went with my friends in the neighborhood, trick-or-treating and we got home with lots of candies. After we returned home, someone knocked at the door. I obviously thought there were some kids at the door, waiting to get candies. In fact, they were kids, but they had no costumes. Instead of asking for candies, they gave us candies! I thought this was hilarious because they were acting like we were the trick-or-treaters, and they were some adults from a house in the neighborhood.

@ Aireszita
I'm not sure if this can be considered a funny story, but it was certainly a Halloween moment I won't forget!

The first time me and my family decided to carve a pumpkin and leave it on our balcony for the night, I had the great idea to pick my dog up so she could look over to the streets aswell - though my mom had warned me not to.

Not too long after I picked my dog up (a tiny yorkie) she kicked the pumpkin with her back paw and it rolled a little until it fell all the way from our balcony to the ground on the streets! I'm really glad no one was walking by there at that moment... The pumpkin falling on their head would surely have hurt!

Though it wasn't exactly a joyful moment for me because I was really happy with how the pumpkin had turned out, it still made me laugh as I certainly wasn't expecting such an outcome out of it! This happened a few years ago and I still can't get over that cute pumpkin getting such a tragic end.

@ DjapeFromSerbia
So, my friend and I was playing game where we would shot tennis balls in holes 10m high in abandoned building. The loser would go upstairs pickup the balls and throw them back trough holes. It was all good until once I hit all balls trough holes and we started arguing with eachoter, balls came back while we still on first floor, it was super scary, I immidealty left the building, my friend picked up the balls and left it too. Once we realised it just could be someone else in building we went in front of building and waited for 2hours for someone to appear(nobody did). After some time we got courage to enter the buidling, but as soon as we tried to enter it, huge plank from roof fell in front of us and we just ran away. Next day, when we went to check the building we found really sick pigeon and it died (RIP) in 2 hours after finding him.
We never found out who or what threw balls back to us, and we never entered that buidling again.

@ PPancake
We don’t celebrate Halloween much here in Australia, the celebrations are rather lacklustre along with the number of houses participating in trick-or-treating. In the rare cases where the houses do have candy, the chances of them having candy corn, my favourite candy, (which isn’t sold here in Australia) is practically impossible. I had my first taste of this treat when I visited the states during Halloween a couple of years ago, there was this something about the cloying sweetness, the perfect balance between rich and something more nuanced. The nuttiness, remnants of marzipan, finished with the warm hint of creamy vanilla, and the distinct texture, a crumbly melt in your mouth feeling which left an impression, unlike any other candy I had tasted before an instant favourite.

You could say my entry, along with my use of english is a bit corny (pun intended).

@ Graudra
Fun yet wholesome story of my Halloween experience last year. I was dressed as a dapper butler for Halloween, and my "job" was to escort my baby brother/ Mario around and get some candy. We had a blast running around; anytime he messed up saying a phrase like "happy Halloween" or "Trick or Treat" I would chime in and say "I apologize. What the young master was trying to say was Trick or Treat" It was amazing but there was one time in particular that was the BEST. We showed up at a makeshift house of horrors. There was a huge line and my brother wanted to go in. I didn't think that was the greatest idea but we went in anyways. He loved every second of it. The people knew there was a child coming inside so they would wave and let us pass. Once we finished up, my brother got a nice handful of candy. He was ecstatic and I was happy for him. He had such a great Halloween and I'm glad he did. I hope I made it better for him.
