How does this review work:I'll be going into four 'main' topics: Cheatsheet, Content, Presentation and What can be Improved?. All of these topics alone can turn a great guide into an even better one. Just knowing the ins and outs of your champion alone won't be enough if you're not able to properly convey said information. The end goal is always to make it easier for the readers that come to your guide of course.I'll specify these main categories with purple text within this review, as well as some subcategories which will mostly depend on your guide chapters and for that I'll use the following rating system:

Cheatsheet

>Runes: Adequate

Stat sites are saying that Resolve secondary with Second Wind and Unflinching are the current most popular runes on Gwen at the moment. You don't feature these choices in your first page nor your second one, how come? What is the reasoning for going Sorcery and why do you recommend Demolish and Revitalize instead? You can accomplish this by including some notes for your rune pages. Explain why they're used, it'll go a long way.

On the same note, what about Inspiration as a secondary choice with Biscuit Delivery and Magical Footwear as an option? Currently a lot of Challengers playing Gwen are using it at the moment into most matchups.

Don't see a reason for the need to include a Lethal Tempo page, it's barely used, barely effective and 95% of the times you're better off running Conqueror regardless.

What is the difference between running double Adaptive + Armor in the first rune page and Attack Speed + Adaptive + Armor in the 2nd one. These can be explained in the notes if they have any merit.

>Summoner Spells: Adequate

Here Teleport & Ignite is shown as the 5th example, which begs a question. How come the most popular spell combo that almost everyone is running at the moment, is shown almost last? Shouldn't it be at the top? what makes the 4 other spell combos before it, more worth going for?

Whilst in a way I can agree that most of the times, people find the use of Flash very precious to them, for a champion like Gwen, the reason why TP/Ignite is currently the most popular is because flash on her is heavily overrated, she doesn't really need it. Teleport aids you in the early stages of lane and further enhances your ability to both splitpush and join teamfights. Ignite gives you kill potential in lane and gives you a lot more wiggle room to be a proper threat. The one time you don't run this spell combo is when you don't have kill potential, this is where TP/Ghost comes in instead as Ghost is just an underrated spell and makes you a menace.

I doubt being able to have Flash instead of these choices for this kind of a champion will aid you very much, as the extra dash distance it provides is either used to gain a kill that you'd gain anyway with proper play and/or avoid a bad situation where most times you'd be dead anyway. Stat sites show this very well with 143k games opting for TP/Ignite and ~40k opting for a spell combo that utilizes Flash. Most people tend to overestimate how valued Gwen's Skip 'n Slash really is, after all it's entirely because she has a dash with a semi low cooldown (that can be reduced through her kit to be lower) that she's able to opt for more interesting spell choices.

I would personally rearrange this section a little bit to make it more tidy (e.g. you showcase the starting items for jungle first, despite the guide being shown as toplane primary, which doesn't make much sense). To look a bit more like this:



I would like to see some notes as well for these items. Nothing apart from the starting items are explained and I feel like it'll make most things make a lot more sense if you explain why you build what you build.

On the same note I think you should remove Recurve Bow entirely from the first buy, and replace it with Leeching Leer. Leer is ALWAYS the strongest early item powerspike you can build on Gwen as she scales tremendously from it and it easily moves to her mythic item, if you can't buy the item directly on your first back, you buy the components for it. There is no reason to delay her mythic item for a Nashor's component, you'll get that later anyway.

I also do not see any mentions of Doran's Ring as a starting item option, why not? Currently it is Gwen's most popular starting items by far out of any of them and is incredibly strong for what it contributes. Why isn't it here?

I will mention about Guinsoo's, but I think it'll come back further down so I'll mention it then.

Is Plated Steelcaps the only choice for her? Mercury's Treads are equally as strong if not stronger on her against teams where plated isn't beneficial (e.g. heavy AP / heavy CC).

Most people build Cosmic Drive earlier due to it being such a strong early item. Building it as a later item or as a final item makes it lose its value that makes it so strong in the first place.

Only thing I will add here is that there is always more room to add in more Threats or Synergies. There is definitely more toplaners in the game other than just 21 and as for synergies, 2 is a good start but there can always be room for some more.

Content

I like people who test out new builds that aren't meta, it's always fun to see. However, it doesn't always mean it's a more efficient build.

"Generally, full ap is not as effective because her AP scalings are pretty bad, so trying to stack AP and let her E make up for lost attack speed isn't going to be as good as having lots of ap AND attack speed all the time."

This statement is a bit misleading. Gwen is an AP champion and scales incredibly well with AP, saying it's not as effective is just untrue. All of her abilities scale insanely off of AP and AP only, making any attempts at gaining any AD completely worthless on her. This means that buying an item such as Guinsoo's Rageblade will only benefit her in terms of the Attack Speed. The critical strike chance from guinsoo's and the bonus physical damage from guinsoo's passive, will be entirely useless on Gwen as she isn't an AD champion and thus doesn't scale off of it. The only reason for purchasing that item is to get the AS which IMO isn't worth it when there are better legendary options that can benefit you more like Cosmic Drive.

>Pros: Adequate

The current meta for Gwen is stacking AP and resistances because her champion is built around AP as a scaling factor, it's why the most meta build only utilizes AP items.

With a guinsoo's purchase it is true that you'll be more gold efficient as the item does cost 400g less than another legendary option like Cosmic Drive. But is the gold efficiency really worth it when the item passive and one of its stats are entirely worthless on her, meanwhile the 400g more item spike gives Gwen all the stats she needs?

If Conqueror is easily the best keystone for Gwen, I don't see the reason to include Lethal Tempo as an option at all, it seems worthless. I would rather explain in depth more about Conq's validity and instead focus on her secondary rune options.

Nashor's Tooth is not a good first item purchase, if it was, stat sites would be able to showcase that strength, which it does not with 235k games making use of Riftmaker as a first buy and only 20k making use of Nashor's Tooth. Gwen's mythic spike is one of the biggest spikes on her due to it being almost made for her (the one reason it's the only available mythic for her to run). Nashor's is a much better secondary option.

Here you do include Mercury's Treads as a potential option for boots, yet these aren't talked about in your cheatsheet.

The one thing that bothers me with going Guinsoo's Rageblade is that it is a perfectly fine item, and using it is perfectly okay, but it's not creating an efficient build. If guinsoo's was as strong as you're arguing it to be, then statistics, challengers and pro play would be able to reflect this item choice as the item isn't really much of a sleeper op pick on Gwen, yet it doesn't. Infact the item is almost never ever built on her in any rank. Which leads me to believe that the only time the item does work is against lower elo players who are either careless or just negligent, it's a very off-meta pick.

Here you explain 6 potential matchups for Gwen which is a lovely start, I believe there are a lot more potential ones you can explain though. You talk about 21 options in your Threats, how come 15 of them aren't talked about here?

>Game Phases: Exquisite

Note: You can always opt to add in more information to make these sections (Early- Mid- and Late Game) more in-depth, but I feel like they do their job decently well at the moment.

Presentation

If there's one thing I'd say about your guide that I feel like you can improve on, it'll definitely be this. I know very well that making use of BBCode can be a very tedious task in of itself to make use of or just to be able to get familiar with in general, but when it comes to presentation, making use of some code can really make your guide become more alive, so to say.

Here are a few coding guides that we already have on the site that could help you if you'd be willing to dedicate some of your time to learning it (or if you just want some quick templates to make your guide look a bit more tidy):

I feel like having a bit of a color theme would go a long way for any guide. This will be especially clear if you were to incorporate some BBCode for your sections. When I say the word 'color theme' I mean using colors that best represents the champion & guide you're trying to make. For example, the guide is about Gwen, which means that a good color theme to have could be e.g. Blue. If you were to use a skin, using combinations from those skins could also be a nice addition and so forth.

What can be Improved?

If there is two things your guide can improve on the most, it's definitely to incorporate some BBCode to make the guide more alive and fresh, as well as talking more about gameplay options you have on Gwen and how to play those. Here are a few examples of some topics:

- How to play the laning phase (especially against various matchups)
- How to make use of vision
- How to track the jungler
- How to transfer your lead into a potential win
- How to play the game when falling behind
- When and how to Roam
- When and how to Splitpush
- When and how to teamfight
- Wave management

These topics can all be useful topics to explain, and of course there can be multiple more that you can talk about when it comes to toplane as a role and Gwen as a champion, but I feel like these are some of the more important ones.

Overall Thoughts

This is a very well made guide, but can definitely use some improvements in various places. It's a very good start but can be made better of course. I hope that this review will be of help to you and good luck. :)
