The thing is, a tank is not needed to win a game, no matter how many times players stress that they NEED a tank. Let me tell you, from my decent amount of experience.. it's not needed. As long as a beefy character and enough CC is available you can go for it all.
Now back to the main question.. Not many people play tanks for the SAME reason why YOU dont play tanks, because they dont like it. They dont like being the person who barely gets kills or pretty damage, they dont want to be the person who tries to save the carries and take a hit for the carry.

I find this ironic because they are picking carries for the same reason you are ranting. You want to play the champion who gets all the kills aswell, but you also want to win. The real question is; how come you don't like to play supports and tanks? And lastly, why are you even playing this game?

You talk about the "glory" of doing kills... that's a myth cause kills don't decide games. Turret destruction and pushing lanes is what matters.
I'd rather make the carry get kills than doing them myself. I love it when I pull unsuspecting squishies to get nuked into oblivion without them knowing what hit 'em :) (i often play as blitz)
The reason why people say Tanks are important is mainly due to the fact that most of 'em have forms of CC and can withstand punishment... the key is to have chars with CC and/or tanky dps :)

Yes, you get "glory" from playing a striker and getting a ton of kills (OR DEATHS IF YOU FEEEEED, in which case you are THE WORST MEMBER ON THE TEAM AND EVERYONE HATES YOU) but I'd rather have VICTORY than KILLS.

I'm so sick of insta-lock Malzahars and Yis and all the dps/carry characters, and everyone's like "SORRY, DERP, I CAN'T PLAY A TANK."
Every game I won in the past week was because we had an even team, with a tank, offtank, support, etc. Every one I lost, there was no tank, or double supports with no health, whatever.
Why do people still insist on playing one character and one character only?

I play Taric, Kayle, Twitch, Tryndamere, and Warwick, except I never get to play the last three because there's never any room for those sorts of characters, everyone else wants them and is too greedy to consider the team in a team game.
I want to just shove some of the mobafire guides into everyone's faces. Or maybe I should just never play unless I have a 5-member team picked out in advance. But that's so hard to plan...
