I used to run Atmogs, and may again. It's good **** on renekton. I'll recategorize this as tanky dps, thank you.

Ruthless Predator applies on hit effects, making Madred's Bloodrazor an incredible item on him, as well as Trinity Force giving you up to 75% chance of slowing. But "To each their own" I always say.

Not bad at all. Takes me back to my lower levels when I started playing Renekton in 3's. I used to carry really hard back then, except I had a different build of course.

Here's my critique, and take it as you want, I'm still going to upvote because it is a 3v3 build, and a lot of people will only play 3s, so when I find a 3s guide I find useful, I auto upvote. Since you said you play Ren as an off tank champion, then with a lot of armor pen, it would make him just as powerful as a dps, as well as sense to spec more into offense because of that. Personally, I suggest:

Removing Veteran's Scars as well as Tenacity, and placing them in Sunder and Brute Force . The Doran's Shield is an ok item if you plan on soloing top, but since Ren works a lot better(imo) with a partner, I suggest grabbing a Ruby Crystal, so you'll have more HP as well as a quicker route to your core build. But seeing as how you listed it as the first alternative choice, I won't worry too much about it.

And since you do play him as an off tank(as stated in your intro) then you won't really need items like Bloodthirster or Youmuu's Ghostblade. As an off tank, rush Atmog's( Atma's Impaler with Warmog's Armor). These 2 items are extremely necessary for Renekton these days, for they give him that "OMFG I CAN'T KILL HIM" feel. Plus, since you're also getting Sunfire Aegis, he will have tons of armor, as well as enough damage for his abilities to be effective.

Think of it this way:

Youmuu's Ghostblade cost 2687 Gold
Where as...
Atma's Impaler cost 2355 Gold

Sure Warmog's Armor cost 3000 Gold, but so does Bloodthirster, but if you died with bloodthirster, you lose stacks, where you wont with warmogs :/ AND warmogs has a better survivability ratio based on your playstyle. Lifesteal doesn't work with Ren's abilities(except for his Ruthless Predator) making Bloodthirster almost useless.
The only reason Bloodthirster would be useful, is if you can keep the stacks for damage.

You could also replace Stark's for Atma's instead of Youmuu's since Youmuu's gives that luscious cdr Renekton needs to spam them abilities.

Aside from that, +1 great job on the guide, this definitely deserves to be in the top 5.

Madred's is not good on croc. He's not an auto attack champion, and therefore wouldn't make much damage from it fast enough. So for the price, I don't like it. I advise against it. However, while I had considered Trinity, I think it'd be better now. So I will change that.

Also, this is Duff's opinion, but I would advise against telling people not to build Madred's and Trinity Force. Those are two on Ren's best items, but you don't feel that way, because they don't synergize with the way you play him.

Also, a side note, I would call this Tanky DPS Ren. To me, an Offtank is more tank than damage, and this build doesn't quite hit those tank number in my eyes, and instead has lots of armor pen and some damage.

I'm not gonna lie, it's difficult for me to envision this in practice at the moment.

There's no way that 2 ArP is gonna out scale 15% Mpen for renekton. The bonus dmg you'll get just while ult spins is gonna out class that :P
