Or AP - if it's an EU team.
Fnatic is pretty much the only EU team still running that.
SK and aAa (Mil) have ditched it and replaced it with a tanky type champion instead due to what they experienced in DreamHack.
Of course they will game occasionally with Duo AP but a tanky DPS or Offtank top seems to be the preferred method all around at the moment.

It's hard to really nail down what the meta is right now, but the most common trend is that bot lane is AD/support, and that both teams will have a jungler.
Outside of that, you see everything from ranged AD and AP carries to bruisers and tanks in top and generally an AP carry mid.
I'm just happy to see the meta changing and growing to be honest.

The latest tournament showed that the double AP Nuke meta is easily countered by a tanky dps comp with the right picks.
Riot's going to need to nerf tanky dps again... :/
That
Singed and that
Cho'Gath and that
Jax (+
Chronoshift )... So unkillable.
Although, I heard they were using an outdated patch with GP whose passive still stacked 4 times. So idk...
(Fnatic's jungler wasn't too impressive)
Maybe it was just good junglers.
Which will be easily solved by the coming jungle remake.

It does still work, just requires a Brand/Malz, or something. Fnatic didn't come third by accident - and some EU teams still OCCASIONALLY do it!

Yuh, but the top tournaments are where you understand which strategy beats which. EU got third because they're just all around better players. But up against rival teams, the team comp shows its true colours.
And Tanky DPS has shown to be able to win over dual-AP.
Which means, Tanky DPS are going to be the new popular flavour again.
That, and Orianna's going to get nerfed. >_>

It can win over dual AP, but Dreamhack showed that most of the time, it's the players, and not the picks. Dual AP is just as viable.
Orianna shouldn't get nerfed, she's received no buffs (and Rabadon's got nerfed recently), and previously she was considered average at best...
Hope she doesn't just because she's considered FotM now.

Orianna is a low-risk, high reward champion in high ELO.
She can damage you while out of range of any of your potential attacks, while if you move in closer, her damage goes up through her passive,
Clockwork Windup. Also, obviously there's still her teammates to deal with.
Her damage is the highest in the game if she can get in a few auto attacks AND hit the right places with the ball.
Based on her performance, there's essentially NO COUNTER to Orianna.
It all depends on how many mistakes the player makes, not the weaknesses of the champion. You either stay out of her range, and lose; or try to kill her, die, and lose.

She has high damage, but if she misses her ball with Q and you're ranged then she's free food.
She can burst extremely hard, but she's similar to Anivia in that she has a long range poke that can be followed up for extremely high damage, and a much shorter range "OSHI-" version.
A champion with high mobility (such as Lee Sin or maybe Nid) would counter an Orianna extremely well. They dodge the ball and they kill her.

Top - Tanky.
Mid - Ap
Bot - Support / AD.
Well, herpaderp, everyone knows about the team setup meta.
And no, it's currently:
AP top and mid. (usually one tanky and one bursty)
Tanky jungler.
Support+carry bot.
