ya I had no one to party with in borderlands so I never got past level 30, didn't finish the main story line either. I was getting tired of doing fetch quests, and it never really felt like I was getting stronger when I leveled.

I actually have the same problem with this game. Since all the zombies scale with your level, you can never go back to an area and just wreck **** up for fun. And it mostly feels like the strength of zombies increases slightly faster than yours does, so if anything it feels like i'm getting weaker as the game progresses.

Well, if you spend your points on your combat abilities and choose weapons that you are proficient in, you definitely get stronger. You also get better at dealing with the zombies. You know how to aim for limbs better, how to time your kicks, when to head stomp, you learn how to tell where/when zombies are coming from by the sounds, and you get better mods.

That being said, the second zone of the game to me felt like the hardest, and most people agree that the sewers are the worst part of the game. Just way too many zombies. I found myself giving up on fighting and just sprinting around past the zombies hoping to get to the ladder before they tackled me. Also doesn't help that I was playing a weak solo character and stupidly spent my points on the utility stuff :)

BTW there is a mod that lets you pick up and carry food (energy drinks and snacks) and stack them, and use them with the H key. If I could go back, I'd just play with that mod on.

Oh no, when I was speaking about the player getting stronger, I mean purely from a statistical point of view. As in, it feels like the amount of damage you do starts to feel less, or maybe it's just that they throw so many more zombies at you as the game progresses, so you have to dish out more damage to make a difference. One thing I found really satisifying was chopping off the head of an infected right as it got close to you.

And ya, I had no problem with the sewers, but the city area was just stupid, there is this one large area between the church and most of your objectives that just has a ****LOAD of infected, as in they literally never stop coming. Even if you are just trying to sprint through, you can't outrun the infected forever and when you do stop there will easily be 4 or 5 right behind you.

Yeah I had to time my sprints to stop and catch my breath in a narrow area so I could kill the couple runners on my tail. And sometimes you just couldn't do anything and you'd go from full health to almost nothing in a few seconds. Was frustrating. At one point I ran from a bunch of zombies and climbed a ladder... When I got to the top and walked onto the roof it bugged out and I got bumped back and fell off backwards and died. Was pissed :D

There's another part where you're walking on roof planks and you're expecting to be safe up there. Then the runners suddenly start climbing up when you're not looking and they just keep coming, and they knock you off the ledge super easily. That pissed me off. That whole quest line turning on the speakers was painful. That and the back and forth in the sewers were my least favorite parts of the game heheh...

ya dude, that speaker quest was unnecessarily long, I don't need to do the same quest four times in a row.

It would have been a little better if the map guide wasn't totally broken on it, and if you could actually travel on the rooftops :) In fact that whole zone coulda been more fun if they made better use of the rooftops.

ya an interconnected network of rooftops over the whole city would have been awesome. That way the ridiculous amount of infected on the ground would've made sense. They could plant a few zombies on rooftops but it would be overall much safer.

Yeah it's not super long but still worth it, and it has re-playability. I finished it a while ago but still pop in to try the other characters and do some coop. It's just fun to play. There will be an expansion soon too :) There are also a few areas of the island that the quests don't seem to lead you to. I haven't taken the time to explore yet but will do at some point.

I don't judge games by how long it takes to finish them though. Portal 2 I finished the day I got it, but I don't regret my purchase in the slightest. L4D1/2 technically you can "finish" in one day but that's not the point. Borderlands would have taken me ages to finish but there was no point lol :)
