Well, but AP Udyr needs Rabadon's Deathcap, Lich Bane, Nashor's Tooth and Void Staff(Ok, Abyssal Mask is a good replacement).

I don't even bother with deathcap since his ratio is so low.
I don't know why you would ever try to build glass cannon Udyr. It never really works because if the enemy has a shred of intelligence they just focus you down. Maybe trade rylai's for deathcap, but that is only if I don't need the slow.
Wit's End alone, with some AtS runes, will cause your damage to be enough. If your really in need of more deeps grab

A tanky build for AP udyr in my opinion would be something like this:
WotA
Abyssal
Rylais
etc. Granted, tanky is a relative term when you are talking about AP udyr. You just can't build zombie Udyr like you build zombie Karthus. I feel like some of the AS/AP items would really help Udyr's game out a lot, but then again I feel like that is going into the hybrid world, and when I think AP I think of straight AP. Not kayle AP, but Annie AP. or even Rumble AP.
Note that this is a troll build for anyone that is trying to make it as viable as possible. It will never be viable.
As to Udyr's ratios, I find that .35 is almost too good on Phoenix atm. If you get a few hundred AP, the Phoenix AoE does over 100 damage per second. That is a really good amount of damage, and that is before you include the procs or AA damage.

I find that regardless of your items, Udyr will pump out some form of hybrid damage. To simply stack AP and ignore AtS is trolling YOUR team.(which I don't agree with) I agree phoenix does a great deal of damage, but why buy deathcap when it only gives you ap? Its a wasted slot at a certain point because your not even getting the full effects of the item. Yah your AP is huge and your lichbane nuke is a monster, but at a certain point I just find other items better choices.

I actually tried it on my smurf recently. I would definitely start with dagger, as the extra AS is great in the early levels, and it isnt cheating and you can actually build it into something useful.
I feel like Amp Tome is possible if you have some boss runes, but haven't tried that outside of lane yet. Amp Tome Udyr is scary at lv 1 lol. So trolllllllll.
