Quoted:
Alistar + Caitlyn is a probably one of the worst combo you can face at the moment

Quoted:
Taric and cait also does wonders.

Both combinations are very strong, but since you're new to the game I'm guessing no one is gonna pick those champs and support you. More agressive laning partners would be champions like Xin Zhao, Sion or Lux. Or basically any other champions that have a stun, snare, or knockup :)

@ DuffTime

Pretty sure Kyashan only wants combinations that include Caitlyn as that is the champ Kyashan likes to play ^^

^ He might have also meant possible combinations that he might face on the other team. Knowing them couldn't hurt at any rate. :P

^^don't forget cho. knockup+silence-great team work. he can also save her well with those, and take a lot of skill-shots for her, making her able to focus more on damage with his pure size.

Cho'Gath has a decent kit, but he's much more reliant on farm than the champions Duff mentioned. Either you'll be taking last-hits from Caitlyn or you'll be very underfarmed by mid-game.
Thanks to Janitsu for the sig!

I have played him as a 'support' a long time ago (did lasthit as a support back then, wasn't familiar with the ins and outs of the current meta), worked really well actually :P

Pop up, silence, true dmgz and HP bonus o_O

I dunno he wouldn't be #1 support or anything but he might be able to do it.

I've seen some Cho's duo lane in bot. Doesn't really work unless you pick up some kills in lane (dat CC). If you don't, Cho' gets fairly squishy mid-game. Feast helps somewhat, but he's so much more effective with farm from solo top or jungle.

Yeah. When picking a support it doesn't matter if they are better with farm though, all supports are better with farm, people even run Janna mid sometimes. And it doesn't matter if it makes a player feel weird to run them bot or anything heh.

Theres two main factors when choosing a support;

-Can they duo lane bot?

-Do they function well without gear?

If yes to both, chances are they can support.

I can conceptualize Cho being an okay support. I dunno just how good he'd be at it or anything though.
