I have yet to see a support Soraka since her rework who didn't feed.

This may be bad luck, but still...she needs at least some AP to do her job well.

Nope. Abyssal Mask and/or Will of the Ancients is more than enough for me. You can just use a few AP runes to get your heals up to snuff.
