The ENTIRE POINT OF THE POST, is to point out that Mobafire ratings, and comments should never be taken at face value.

The sad thing is that this statement is being qualified by a veteran posting in this thread saying that they would rather rate guides based on PERSONALITY.

EDIT: Btw, /r/LoL is a really chill place for general LoL stuff. We don't bash Mobafire every waking minute of the day. Astrolia's post isn't even being well received on /r/LoL. It has an atsonishing 20 upvotes. Threads about CLG or TSM get 300 votes ezpz.

Really?

Why use the specific words "I see a bunch of posts on Mobafire that look like this..." and "Oh, Mobafire" instead of, "Oh Mobafire Veterans", or "Oh Diesel"?

OR, the poster could even you know...

Call Diesel bad or something to that effect.

Does that happen, ever?

Nope.

All that is brought to the attention of the reddit /r/leagueoflegends community, is that a lot of posts on mobafire say "hey your build is good BECAUSE i got a good score!" but, in this example, when investigated, it isn't always as good as it sounds.

Which for me doesn't take away the fact that this was only investigated and then posted here because it was a veteran saying it. If it were someone with 4 posts, someone who isn't a regular on this site, no one would post this and no one would care.

Just sayin' what it looks like to me.

Veterans are more important people. That's why. Case and point;

Normal person punches out person of opposite political interest. Not that many people care except for maybe those involved.

President of the united states, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, punches out a Republican who was trying to ask him questions. BIG. ****ING. DEAL.

Titles give your actions more value, whether you want them to or not.

Irony? A lot of Some veterans are only veterans from being with the site from the very beginning rather then their contributions.

REGARDLESS

The real intentions behind OP's image can be found within the REDDIT thread itself.

Quoted:
He said he went 11/0/8 on his first game as Jarvan. I looked up the stats on that game, and the enemy team had trolls - 3 of them fed, 2 of them built only Zeals and Daggers. So why is it impressive or bragworthy for him to go 11/0/8 on his first game when the enemy team had trolls and a Kennen building a Rod of Ages (mana item)? Who wouldn't get that score on their first try as any character when the enemy team is throwing the game? How does that score versus a team of trolls/feeders prove that build is any good?

Read it and weep, it wasn't a slander against MOBAvets, it was a slander against the people that play 1 game as a champ, go against feeders, win with a guides build (even though he only built a warmogs + merc treads) and praise the guide for being an all knowing source of LoL champ skill, despite them not really utilizing the guide in an appropriate environment (I.e srs normal game/inhouse/ranked game). IMO, such comments hurt a builds credibility rather then help it.

tl;dr- Not all comments and upvotes are made by competent/experienced LoL players.

Right, well in that case I don't care about the post at all because it's obvious that people who say 'Wooohoo, thanks I just went 10/0/4 with this YOU'RE THE BEST!' are not to be taken serious.
Even if they got that score against good opponents, it's not going to help me in my games, so I ignore posts like that. /care

No, you've twisted her words. She said she WOULD NOT vote. I mean **** I avoid certain people and their guides because I don't like them.

Oh somebody is posting THE TRUTH about an important person and making a logical observation from that fact, let us beat him senseless and not rec his guides! You vets are funny. This situation is comparable to those annoying-*** journalists who uncover **** about an important person's life, and then everyone hates on them with "personal lives are supposed to be secret" ****.

Even if the item build for any guide is golden, if somebody who's comments actually matter, like says, a VETERAN, says that the build is good without having tested it legitimately (against decent players) then his upvote is hollow, without any backing besides the theoretical behind it. We need veterans to see if the builds works in practicality. Don't be so high on your ****ing pulpits that you cannot acknowledge basic flaws in the veteran system.

You could make the argument that it is possible that he tested the build prior, but he specifically bragged about a game against trolls/feeders/unskilled players as evidence of the godliness of that build, so that does not work.
