MY OPINION:

Classic WoW was a lot of fun, I had no clue what I was doing, but it was a lot of fun. AQ20+40 were ****ing epic (****ing difficult as **** too), and the first time I cleared the original ZG I lost my mind due to sheer fun and epicosity.

BC was my favorite of all the expansions, just because of SSC and TK (which everyone hated for some reason). Though I never made it to BT, Hyjal was fun in terms of end-game progression, and <.5% completed sunwell in its original release, so there you go.

WotLK's first 6 months (or until ToC, whenever that was) were ****ing fantastic, people were excited to go back into Naxx, despite its ****ty encounters like Thad, Heigan and Sapphiron. And who can forget about Ulduar. Mimiron hardmodes were some of the best times I've had in WoW, and Ulduar as a whole was ****ing brilliant. Yogg was so intimidating at first and then everyone figured out that +0 was lulz with gear.

Then, **** hit the fan. ToC was horribly engineered, and ICC was dragged on for far too long. And what the **** was RS there for? Sure, as a precedent to Cata it *kind of* made sense, but who was excited for that progression anyways.

Cata was great, within its first few months, everyone loved the new leveling content and TotFW was fun, while BWD and BoT were the same old repetitive ****. However, due to a lack of interesting and fun progression, Cata was rushed, and here we are, getting an expansion every year.

All in all, WoW has been one hell of a game, whether you think Blizzard is milking their players for their money or not. It has been one of the most successful MMO's (if not THE most successful) in the last ten years, and I continue to look forward to new releases and updates to the game.

IMO, BC was the begining of the end for WoW. The game became waaay too easy with that expansion. The community became less and less friendly with each expansion, the game became a bit easier with each expansion. WoW original kicked ***. By far the best MMORPG I played. All the other expansions were nails the games coffin. But that's just IMO.

If the game goes free, me and a couple of my IRL friends with who I was playing the original WoW might start playing it again, with nostalgie. But theres no way in hell i'm paying for the **** that game became. Hell no.

+rep me and you'll get good karma, wich means you won't be reincarnated into a rock! Isn't that awesome?

But yes this idea has been discussed more than Pam Anderson's tits in a plastic surgeons office.

No further questions your Honour...

And the Classic WoW part:
Ofc Classic was more bugged than any of its follower...
Ofc Blizz was missing essential Know-How since it was one hell of a gaming-coup, while they did it for the first time.
Ok, PvP was totally unbalanced, I give you that, but since it was nothing more than an addon IMO (make ppl who add up in a group fight each other... lol...) I couldnt care less.

Just some little points that made Classic vanilla:
-One big world. The amount of extra land decreased with every addon
-You had to work your way to the top. It was hell for sb new to reach lvl60 while skill his jobs (you could actually use selfmade low level craft equip!), after that your not "endgame" youre just one guy in ragged clothes adoring those full dungeon equipped guys adoring those raid equipped guys. Only carrying MC weapons made you awesome (dont mention Thunderfury...)
-There WAS Difficult lvl, even 5 men dungeons were tough.
-You could feel the work/ideas the creators squeezed in nearly every inch of the game.

Thats why i loved the game.

I don't no if i am a bit strange, but i like it to lose in a game in the first try or even on 6 or 7. It just makes me want it to beat it more. Sure there is a cap. If i couldn't clar anything the game would be ****. But Classic was hard enough to be fun and not to hard to let you quiet. Compared to that everything in WoTLK was a breez.
Thanks lgnition for the Sig.

HAHA

Oh wait you're serious?

Unless you were killing Cthun and doing Naxxaramas, then BC was WORLDS harder than Classic.

There were more mechanics, there was more pressure on healers and tanks, and you could wipe because of a single person dying.

The game was far and away from "easy".

Comparing the two, aside from ultra end game vanilla content that 99% of people playing never even SAW, is silly.

At the very end of TBC, everything was nerfed so people could experience the content, with a bit less of a focus on progression.

I don't agree with that decision, but it's fine since it was all old content within a few months anyways.
Tri lane for life.

Kara progression was ez mode, everything else was difficult as ****. I remember Mag being so bloody difficult at first with those ******** cubez >.<. And good ol' BC was when tanks had to, you know, actually TRY. Nowadays tanking to me is "lulz i can has aggro plz? spamming abiliteez k thx."

@Jun: Thanks, and agreed :)

IMO BC was still "Ok", but reading your post, especially the "single person" part makes me wonder if you actually played more than "ultra end game"..?
Did you enjoy MC for example? One guy failing wipes the whole group? Nothing there, you should remember on nearly every single bossfight (sure, we're talking about a 40 men wipe)...?
Ofc you cant directly compare sth with its follow-up from years later stuffed with the experience from before...
Even so: They had the experience and still let the game degenerate over time in MANY aspects.

Also: hard =/= good.
Keal'Thas bossfight and BT were still good, though

I have to disagree, for me hard has always = good. But that's just because easy progression (you know, all of Cata -_-) that we can down in a week bores the **** out of me. BC and Ulduar hardmodes actually provided a challenge. Butt ton of un.

I remember this one private server I was on.

I met these people and they were so hidden from the rest of the world. All of them are people I met in real and who I eventually lost contact with. They had such amazing stories. People from every age group too..

I remember that there were only us online, ever, that's why they were surprised I came in. They always roleplayed, had fun and did crazy ****. PvP contests for prizes and an monthly meeting annual leadership contest. Whoever won got to pick what to do in the next meeting with the 2 others that won the other two months. Every quarter of a year we actually got together and did **** like mountainbiking, snowboarding, LAN parties, movie nights, **** like that.

We had one Thread in the entire forums in which we talked outside of the game and a vent channel.

It was so amazing.. those were good times. That's what I remember from World of Warcraft. Not a massive multiplayer, but a small group of 23 people from the age of 13 to 60. Great friends and great comrades.

I swear to god, if that server would have been reality for me, I would have dived into combat like we did in roleplay in real and follow them any day.

If it goes F2P i'll give it a shot.

I found it boring when I tried it on a friend's subscription.

LoL > WoW for me anyday.

Just my playstyle I imagine.

Also skipped it 4 times already and started again for the sole good purpose it has:

You can play it on the long run with friends.
It isnt good anymore, but you could always lvl/quest together or visit a dungeon and such.
But thats because i rly love coop-games and I also suspended my acc months ago.
