Final Fantasy stopped existing for me after FF6. It reappeared for a brief moment for FF9, but then vanished again.
Square Enix really went down in quality on their final fantasy games. ****ty stories. The only good thing Final Fantasy games have is music. Other then that, they're fanboy-weebo fodder.

The latests final fantasies have awesome graphics too, but thats all, the story sucks hard (but you can learn some things about life in FF13 at least)

I heard it was absolutely terrible, which doesn't surprise me in the least. :P
True. Tell us why we should play it, Zio

What bothers me about both 12 and 13 is that the storylines actually had some potential but were completely ruined by terrible pacing and execution, and in 12's case ****ty characters. Neither game had any interesting villains at all.
Let's be honest the battle systems were pretty **** in both 12 and 13 as well.
And the biggest problem wih 13 was what I like to call 'corridor syndrome'. Literally the entire game is this:
-Walk down the corridor for 20 mins or so
-Encounter cutscene
-Walk down the corridor some more
-Encounter another cutscene somehow related to and carrying on from the last one
-Walk down the corridor some more
-Boss fight and area change
-Go back to top
Yes, the corridor might have pretty wallpaper but it's still just a corridor.
I actually just watched an ad for FFXIII-2 and I literally facepalmed when the guy described the addition of quicktime events as if it was the most original and ingenious idea ever. SERIOUSLY, KEEP THAT **** OUT OF MY JRPGS. IF THEY EVER REMAKE FF6/7/9 WITH QUICKTIME EVENTS I'M FLYING TO JAPAN AND BOMBING SQUARE HQ.

Oh god there's fishing?
The game's marketing focuses heavily on Lightning, by far the most interesting character from the last game, but she's playable in the game for only a very short time. Instead everything revolves around her younger sister Serah and new character Noel, a generic Japanese teen hero who's the last remaining human from the future. The previous cast all make cameos in some way but the least endearing always seems to get the most screen time.
Sigh...

Oh, I thought you were talking to me.
Both games sound ****ty though. :P
I was being super sarcastic btw.
The fishing is insanely complicated, arbitrary, and monotonous.
But, I still made my character a fisher.
WHY CAN'T AN MMO JUST HAVE OCARINA OF TIME FISHING?
WHY?
Tri lane for life.
