She has damage/ AP ratios comparable to Morgana but far less CC. She's weaker in teamfights but works in extended skirmishes due to long range and easy kiting skills.

It hurts me to say this, but both Ahri and Ryze are better in mid than Lux.
However the advantage Lux has, is underestimation. Recently they buffed her quite a bit (lolled) and she has that shield... which saves so many lives if used correctly.
But those 3 are so different... Ryze has his tankiness, Ahri has her mobility and Lux has her range/burst.
Lastly: If you want to, just try Lux out in a few Normal Drafts, and see how you do.

This is happening less and less. Since the buff, I've seen so many people play lux that it's rather insane.
