Yo forums, I have been playing Jax for a while now, and I usually run him with a Phantom Dancer, you know..before the dodge got removed, now I just cant spam stuns as much as I used to (fml.)... I havnt really bothered to try out the new phantom dancer, since its still pretty expensive and well the benefits arn't as good as they used to be..So I have been rollin' AP Hybrid Jax, and so far it's been fine. My only problem is: Chasing... I find it extreamly difficult to chase other champs.

Now, usually all the top rated builds I have seen here, get the Rageblade after the ninja tabi. But I was wondering why not get the Bilgewater Cutlass? It has a nice slow effect and some interesting Life Steal...

So...do you think its a good idea to get a Bilgewater Cutlass before the Rageblade, then maybe build it up to a Gunblade?

Good **** imho. But very costy also. Rageblade is easy to get and you need some AS in early game. I would still go Tabi->Rageblade->Rest_of_the_build
Did i help you? Click that +Rep

Thanks to jhoijhoi for the sig!

Well I have to argue on Rageblade being easy to get, the bilgewater is actually alot cheaper

2235: Being the total price for a Rageblade
1825: Being the total price for a Bilgewater

Tbh I can lane longer with bilgewater, thanks to the lifesteal, and maybe pull off more kills with the help of the slow... Immediatly after I could work for a rageblade and bam my problems are pretty much over.. The downsides however, will be the the lack of ability power and attack speed in the start.

Humm, I would have to test this idea :P....

Chasing hard? frozen mallet! Triforce you can also experiment with, seems like it'd work well on jax.

Triforce actually not so much, mainly because Jax relies on strong DPS and not bursty spikes - he's basically anti-Poppy. Frozen Mallet works in theory but only if you're well fed enough to maintain your damage output as you're chasing.

Hmm an interesting idea, for some reason I forgot about Frozen Mallet, but with such a high price, isnt the gunblade a better item?

Anyways I tested my idea and well... the rageblade is much better to begin with than the Bilgewater xD! the attack speed makes so much of a difference =/... chasing is still annoying but i'm starting to think I will need someone like Morgana to lane with me, so I can get fed omnomnom.

EDIT: holy effin' sheet. I just tried the frozen mallet idea and went 15/3/10... solo'ing whole teams like wussup.

Amazing idea o.o!

Frozen Mallet was just a suggestion for the chase ability if you're not able to get as many dodges off because of the new patch.

Ninja->Rageblade->Mallet seems solid if you ask me. Allows you to get quite a bit of damage off while having a lot of survivability and also being able to chase well with high attack speed. The ability to get these items is only limited by your ability to farm.

Also, I suggested the Trinity Force because Triforce + Empower seems pretty damn good and also has the Frozen Mallet slow along with extra movespeed. I guess it can be tested, but hey, I'm just theorycrafting here. Also it's cool how there's +HP and +Mana because I know Jax has quite some Mana problems with so much spamming, too.

I just had a great game with Jax and here's how I build him. Given he sucks in the lane without a good partner, I enjoyed having a Blitz laning with me. Rylai's > Mallet btw

I get 1 point in every skill to start, then I max empower, leapstrike, then counterstrike. This gives you the most dmg output possible.

ahh PFP thats pretty good, but why even bother getting the gunblade so late, maybe just get a guardian angel or something?

I ran, Tabi> Rageblade> Vamp> Frozen Mallet> Bloodthirster> Nashor's> guardian angel

worked pretty well, AD really helps the passive :D!
