Armor pen runes are already barely passable in top lane (they're pretty much gone from bot unless you're playing urgot). I'd go for AD reds/quints on Yorick as long as you have

Yes and no. The extra damage from ArP quickly out-scales the damage from AD.
Most Yorick players run 9/21/0 with the MrP in offense.
ArP marks should still be the standard in top because they give more overall damage vs champions.

Depends on playstyle, I see Yorick as a brusier solo top though like many standard solo tops. Armor seals, MR/lvl or flat MR glyphs, then balance of ad/armp marks and quints. I tend to aim for 10-10 between armpen and AD, best to ability to get that goal at least.
The big difference just comes down to starting items. I actually like to do regen pendant+pot as bruiser solo top into philo to solve early game mana issues.

That's a bad idea.
Don't go with a special playstyle if you don't know WHY. You clearly don't know how ArP works, so just go with ArP marks and AD quints.

10 flat ad so your not losing the advantage at early game to sacrafice for better late game, 10 armpen so your not losing the scaling into late game for early game.
Not that hard of a concept, and works quite well for me personally.

Don't understand why it matters that I have an opinion and then you feel the need to tell me I don't know why I have that opinion.
Opinions are formed from reasons, mine being A) playtime and personal experience of trial and error rune sets, B) linear equation of base armor of champion has linear growth, having flat ad early on is more advantageous, and as armor scales into late game, armor penetration scales at an exponential growth, passing up flat AD at mid-late game area, C) obviously as they build armor as game progresses, you need armor penetration to cancel out their counter building, and keep your AD you built still effective as the game proceeds.

Searz does exactly the same thing like I did before, only having his own opinion and says everyone's else opinion sucks. For real...
AD marks are definitly viable, I would say even better than ArP on
Yorick. Most pros use AD Marks because they get more heal and a superior laning phase. Lategame
Yorick falls of anyway, so that tiny amount of damage doesn't matter. And it works, so why not?
I think, runes are also more about the personal playstyle rather than about how XY says a champ is to play. You have to find the best for yourself and accept other opinions, because everyone's playstyle is different.

It's not that. It's that I know more than you and because of that you should listen a little. Sorry if I come off as rude, but it's hard to give most people on the internet friendly tips for some reason.
What you should do is ask me WHY(if you want to know), because I know why a certain rune setup is better than others. I can explain what is best and why.
