I was wondering, which one's more viable Tanky dps or crit GP? Please give me reasons to support your answer.

I believe gangplank is a melee hero (his Parrrley isn't enough to make him ranged)

With that in mind, He will get beaten down if he has little defense capabilities. While he will do a lot less damage/second than a critplank, He will also survive much longer, making the total damage dealt more as a tankplank.

GP is at the very very bottom of the 2nd tier of Elementz'Solo Queue Tier list. While he isn't bad, His kit just usually isn't enough to carry a team

Depends what you're focused on and your team composition. Critplank has a bit more survivability onto him than ranged carries and his damage is often absurd, but he still gets burned down if you are overfocused (however pre-teamfight parley poke is devastating). It is best played if your team already has two tanks/disrupters

Offtank GP is what he reads: good damage and team support, while being able to soak up damage himself.

Parley is too short ranged to allow a crit gp to do his job without putting him in a very dangerous situation.

Tanky deeps GP is quite cool as he has a nice mvt speed and a built-in QSS so he can reach his target.

Sadly, both can have serious problem in lane and in midgame

Errr GP is actually viable right now, but I prefer a mix of ArP and AD or full AD depending ^_^

Atma's + Infinity + Maw is boss. My brother still rolls with Phantom/Infinity every game though.

Critplank is actually really great at proving grounds. Other than that, not so much.

Tanky Crit Gangplank. Yes, you can have crit while staying alive.
