Thanks for your reply,
I'm pretty new to the genre so I guess I'd better read up on some terminology because AP Bruiser and all that makes no sense xD
I assumed you could build each champion to your liking because of the runes but upon doing some research apparently all the champions have base stats so I guess I can't do -absolutely- anything...
Well I'd still like to be a DPS class with some team support then.
I don't know how much of my noobishness is gameplay, timing, lack of understanding other champions and all of those things that come from experience, and how much is actually just not really knowing the ideal progression of items and skill points. It seems like the only thing I'm good at is clearing minions quickly with splash damage... :|

Oh maybe her damage has seemed unimpressive because I'm not buying consumable AP drinks?
It sounds cool to play a tanky DPS version rather than just purely trying to get Assists (not very exciting unfortunately...)
Is there a link to the 'ap bruiser kayle' build that goes more in depth? :)

I've been using this build and getting a good amount of kills as well as being able to assist which is fun, my main question now is how to upgrade items? Kind of confusing not only because it seems like sometimes I can't upgrade even though I have the gold, but also if I'm trying to find specific items I don't really know where to look/what to filter by (Rabadon's Deathcap for example...)
I'm assuming I have to have enough inventory/gold, which is the case, it just sometimes seems like I buy one of the bottom branches and can suddenly get the next tier of upgrade and other times it seems like I have to buy ALL of the bottom branches before I can move up. But the game is pretty fast paced so that may be me just not being very smart under pressure :P

Why would anyone ever go AP
Kayle? Even when supporting I will build with the focus on AD.
Usually:
Faerie Charm
Philosopher's Stone
Kage's Lucky Pick
Berserker's Greaves
Zeke's Herald
Black Cleaver
Infinity Edge
Phantom Dancer
Guardian Angel
Sometimes the order can change. However Zeke's Herald is hands down one of the best items on
Kayle.
While jungling you can start with
Boots (or
Cloth Armor if you are having trouble).
I never understood why people play
Kayle as AP... Only her Q scales well but it scales equally well with AD.

I did ^^
but you can do that build when things go right, if you are having trouble you should probably pick up an
Aegis of the Legion after Zeke's Herald.

I saw the items but what about masteries/runes or do they not matter much? I'm only level 5 so I guess items are the most important?
So I'm assuming this would be the step by step progression for items (obviously you could get a defensive/offensive sooner depending how the game's going but since I'm only playing against bots right now I'm trying to memorize the basic build and then adapt when I'm more familiar with the game)
(Faerie Charm)
(Philosopher's Stone)
(Kage's Lucky Pick)
(Boots of Speed, then Dagger, then upgrade to Berserker's Greaves)
(Kindlegem, then Dagger, then upgrade to Zeke's Herald)
(Dagger, then B.F. Sword, then upgrade to The Black Cleaver)
(B.F. Sword, then Cloak of Agility, then Pickaxe, then upgrade to Infinity Edge)
(Cloak of Agility, then Dagger, then upgrade to Zeal, then upgrade to Phantom Dancer)
(Null Magic Mantle, then Chain Vest, then Cloth Armor, then upgrade to Guardian Angel)

Well eventually your inventory will be full, so you can't buy the smaller items and you will just have to wait until you have all the gold.
By the way this build is not perfect, I should play
Kayle a bit more :P

I like being a tanky/support class since I play with my friends and that sharing-is-caring stuff is awesome, but I'm tired of never getting kills :P
Is there a build someone could link to that gives me the best of both worlds?
Thanks! :D
