Honestly, if I get it I'll probably just format it. A computer the size of a rubix cube sounds pretty great for 100$.
I think they chose Android for the existing Tegra 3 software support. Among other reasons ofc, but I can't remember any off the top of my head.
If I was in the US I'd have bought one right away. But since I'm in EU I'll have to pay 99*1.15+20=135$ (I think) and I'm not that keen to pay that much for it. I'd rather buy it if and when it succeeds.
Until then I'll make do with a Raspberry Pi.

It's not really people being misled but rather being ignorant, when people hear the term 'game console' they immediately think the likes of the PS3, Xbox 360 etc.
Yes this is a 'game console' but not in the sense that people are thinking, essentially this is a top tier 'tablet' without a screen that can connect to your TV.
Honestly people today surprise me with how much they assume things and with their ignorance.
What we have here is an open source 'console' that is running on android. Nowhere in their proposal does it say that it would be able to deliver the same quality as other 'game consoles'. What it does say is "Because OUYA is based on Android, any app developer could publish their Android app to OUYA.". The only place it mention LoL at all is that it is borrowing the free to play model from them, so what we'll see is 'free' apps and games that to access full content you will have to pay.
This is more of an outlet for indie developers to thrive on and creates an alternative to Steam, Live Marketplace, and the PS3 store.
