After you get tear, you can harass a lot more, and the easiest way to kill someone is to first use you combo stun>matter>Q, you will probably do a lot of damage, enough to leave your enemy with 50 ou 60% hp, and then you just have to wait for you stun again, and then do the same but now you use your ult, that's so easy....
I think most players dont know veigar so well, because i think hes very easy to counter, because hes very slow and so dependent of his stun, but if you let him farm, he will almost win a team fight alone.

But if i don't die, Veigar is such an aggressive support, it's surprising not to play him in mid ^^

All-around pretty standard Veigar stuff, although I gotta say the Tear is pretty horrible since you rely on one successful spell rotation. DFG rush will win you more games if you know how to combo.

But it's not core. The only three items I consider core are DFG, zhonya's and void. DFG is pretty much always my first complete item.
