He clears fast enough without Wriggles? I mean, seriously, even if you don't kill the small guys to get isolation damage he has a 3 second cooldown super damage dealer. He clears just fine, you don't even have to level up W.

Maxing Q is far superior so that you deal tons of damage (trademark) during a gank. I don't understand maxing W at all, as the reduced cooldown on Leap is essential, and you are going to be evolving it second, so it's a pretty hefty damage dealer.

For what I know, maxing Q first and evolving it first is the best strategy, and then maxing E for damage and cooldown reduction. He also seems to clear just fine with Phage > Bloodthirster.

leveling up W second means more sustain in the jungle thats why you level it up earlier

i level up E last because its for utility than damage as a secondary flash

I never find myself low in the jungle after the first blue, I'd rather have more burst damage from Leap. He doesn't need W second. E is your initiate for ganks, so you are going to be using quite often, and the reset in teamfights allows you to hop from target to target and quickly burst them down.

I think I might try maxing skills R>Q>W>E, but evolving E>W/Q (not sure). That way you get the sustain and damage, but also increased range.

id evolve Q first so that your ganks do more damage and you get finished with them faster

but thats just me evolving E will make your initiations better but you wont be dealing as much damage

ive only evolved W when my team doesnt have a lot of ranged things or isnt heavy on cc because evolving your ult for the passive and damage reduction for the AoE teams youll be seeing helps

You get a cooldown refresh from leveling up your E so you max that last as the damage it gives from level is meh and the CD still doesn't go down enough to be reliable.

There's also a minion damage cap, so you really shouldn't be evolving Q first if you're jungling with him.

Also, you know you can use W to pull Blue/Red buff into isolation range without killing the small ones, right?

My skill sequence is usually
Ability Sequence
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18

Early 2 points in W is enough to clear the jungle, then focus on Q for maximum damage output. I evolve E > Q > W/R, or Q > E > W/R.

Also, @jpikachu

Reduced cooldown on E means nothing, it doesn't help you clear, it doesn't help you gank, it doesn't help your sustain, it doesn't help your dueling/killing power. Also,

True, E is your initiate for ganks, but if you took a look at the numbers W has a higher ratio and base damage, as well as a shorter cooldown for more burst.

Never said anything about maxing W first either, I said to maybe put a few points to stay in the jungle longer without life steal items (answering the OP), but in the end always prioritize Q.
