Generally, I clear minions by auto-attacking each once, and then using E in the middle of the group. This strategy clears efficiently without sacrificing so much single target burst, which is what Akali is all about.



Yes, but you miss my point, I do not think Guinsoo's Rageblade is worth it for the sole purpose of pushing turrets, and in any situation within a teamfight where Akali tries to start auto-attacking an enemy champion, she will die too quickly because of her inherent squishiness. This may have some use in a 1v1 fight, but of very limited use and definitely not worth the disadvantages of its lack of teamfight effectiveness..



Akali doesn't have much chance of taking down tanky enemies without being very fed, even with a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. In fact, let me correct myself: ESPECIALLY with a Rylai's Crystal Scepter, since you're sacrificing potential damage for this item. Therefore, with less damamge, why SHOULD you be able to take down a tankier enemy? And if your chasing down a single opponent, as in the case of an enemy "who may simply outrun you," Hextech Gunblade will slow them as well.

As for the case of being able to CC multiple enemies with a Rylai's, I have a bit to say about that. It is very correct that Hextech Gunblade only works on a single target. If you are ever in a situation as Akali where YOU need to be the one to CC multiple opponents, your team composition is VERY lacking in CC. Buying a Rylai's Crystal Scepter this early (especially getting Giant's Belt first) sacrifices a lot of damage in order to be able to slow multiple enemies. If this is the case, you are basically relying on your teammates for damage despite being a carry of sorts yourself. The tank/support/offtank generally come with the ability to CC (stuns/snares/whatever) multiple targets. If you're trying to do this too, you're gonna be eyeing that tank, he'll be eyeing you, and you'll both be wondering where the damage is. To reply to the claim that it's difficult to keep two enemies under control, this is true, but it's not your job to. You're a single-target, ( Hextech Gunblade) melee, burst assassin. Leave the CC to those characters that are designed for it, and you back that CC with your high damage instead. Just my two cents.

You raise a fair point here. I prefer to take it to help with clearing minions quickly. It helps with taking a bit of jungle on the side when you can. So far with this build, maxing them side by side (prioritising Mark of the Assassin) hasn't really impeded on my ability to pull off almost every kill I attempt. I'll try out maxing Q first and revise my guide if I find it better.



Again, fair point, but I find this pushes turrets a lot quicker (when paired with the Lich Bane) and downs enemies a lot faster than taking another item. If your cooldowns are all at 3~ seconds or your energy is too low, basic attacks can really turn the fight. It adds another tool to your arsenal, allowing you to fall back on Akali's basic attacks if the need really arises. The bonus magic damage, rising attack damage and speed from Guinsoo's Rageblade does pack a bit of a punch.



League of Legends would be far too easy for champions like Akali if she could actually take down the enemy with mher initial burst every time. This item accounts for the tankier enemies, or those who may simply outrun you. It's very risky to run out of stacks of Shadow Dance, so I prefer to slow my enemies with a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. The other thing is that when facing multiple enemies, a Hextech Gunblade may only be used on one of them, effectively allowing the other to escape unless I remain in range of them for my Shadow Dance. It's very difficult to keep 2 enemies under control without a Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

-1 Your item build and skilling order are not viable for a couple reasons.

Why would you max Q and E evenly? Q is Akali's primary harass and damage throughout the game. Counting the damage from consuming the mark, it does more than double the damage of E. The main uses for E in the early game are proccing the mark from Q and minion clearing. It's not nearly as strong damage-wise as Q and costs a large amount of energy, so it's far from spammable.

As for Guinsoo's Rageblade, Akali is not an auto-attack based champ. What I mean by that is although she uses auto-attacks in order to proc Q and Sheen/ Lich Bane, she doesn't do the majority of her damage by repeatedly auto-attacking. The reason you give for buying it, taking down turrets, is far from a reason to sacrifice so much burst and kill/damage potential. The main tool Akali has for taking down turrets is by far the Sheen/ Lich Bane. In the mid-game, when turrets start falling, you can burst down turrets quite quickly with this item, and is far more viable than a Guinsoo's Rageblade.

Additionally, the idea that going for such an early Giant's Belt is good is beyond my understanding. You will have more damage and sustainability in a lane if you rush Hextech Gunblade. Rylai's Crystal Scepter isn't as good for an assassin like Akali, who doesn't even really need the slow thanks her up to 3 jumps. Plus, she's a burst champion, so why would you need to slow them if your intention is to kill them with your initial burst? Not to mention Gunblade's active is a slow for when you do need to keep them in range for an extra second or two.

Yuu might mention that Akali can easily hold the stacks on the rageblade thanks to Crescent Slash because actually it's a bad items if they get off.

I also like some CDR on Akali to solve engery problems and additional burst.
