If a guide site has no high level opinion its reputation will be horrible, leading to a smaller amount of players joining.
What i meant by this was that the community is smaller and less experienced than it could be. If a site has a well-known reputation of having bad guides at the top then no high level players will join.
But anyways, looks like an improved feature system is the only thing that would work. Im not here to argue anymore.

i like the idea, but i think 5 votes would be a bit overkill.
Thank you jhoijhoi, Keondre, LaCorpse, The_Nameless_Bard, Arcana3, Apfeljack, Hogopogo, eddie199, Xiaowiriamu, and JEFFY40HANDS for the spectacular sigs!

someone made this point earlier in the thread but i wanna bring it up
arnt the ones that look at guides the newer players? not the high elo players? im sure there are enough people on this site that have played long enough/are good enough/are smart enough to know how to make a guide thats good and see why others are good and vote them up
and honestly i dont see why people say mobafire has a reputation for terrible guides, almost every time i see someone asking for help on how to build a champion they get directed to this site by other random people much more often than solomid and if you actually -try- to look instead of just picking the top three guides youll see some that actually do work, its not that mobafire has a reputation for bad guides its that people are too lazy to actually leave the featured/front page when they look for a guide

More than 20 times on streams and more on official forums I've seen and heard people referring to mobafire as a joke. That is on streams with thousands of viewers. You might only see the positive sides but there are a ****load of negatives.
I want mobafire to get better rep cause it is generally a great community. But many of the guides are horrible. I came here as a new player and for a long time I thought tear was the best shiatz on Cassiopeia since I read it here.
I have been working in education since freaking before Waterloo, and now I work in sales. People need to see correct information. Sure, I think the guides with correct information also need to be accessible. That's why I bashed on the "pro-guides" we had before. They had the correct information but not in an accessible way for someone new.
I would never read a mobafire guide if I came to the site now with the knowledge I have and happened to first lay eyes on one of the top bad guides. I'd run screaming. And this is a problem.

If you for some reason want to follow my ranked journey to gold, you can do it Here.
I am against asking for rep, only rep me if you think I contributed well or said something wise.

If I'm wanting to use a champion for the first time and don't know much about using the champ other than that they're a bruiser of some sort, the first place I look for a guide is solomid.net. Chances of the top guide, or even one of the top 5 guides of a champion on this site being good? 30-40%. Chances of a featured or approved guide on solomid being good? 90%. Why bother wasting time on mobafire when I *know* I'm going to be looking at good guides for the champion I want to learn about on solomid, but on mobafire I have to look at the items and read the guide to try and figure out for myself whether the guide is good or not, which isn't very easy when I don't know much about the champion.

Not sure why that's the case. Off the top of my head, the only bad guides I can remember are Mundo and Shyvana, and tehAsian's guide is replacing the top Shy guide.
If you find a bad guide, downvote it and comment about why it's bad. If you have the time to write a paragraph of information about how much you prefer Solomid, you have to downvote the guides you don't like.
Also, no.
Solomid guides are awful. Most haven't been updated in more than 150 days. Solomid authors don't care as much about their guides as MobaFire authors do.

On the other hand people who are looking for guides can go to Solomid knowing that all of the top rated guides there will work at higher elo. You can never be sure when you visit mobafire, meaning that going on Solomid is far more reliable and quicker. Additionally, most people visit guides only for the builds and the cheat sheet is far better on Solomid than on mobafire.

Nope. MobaFire is supposed to be a guide site for everyone, not a site where all the high elo people make friends and then upvote each other's guides to 90%.
Well this site already has people up-voting each others guides to hit 90%. The difference is a majority of them are normal queue heroes. Not 2k ELO+ players who actually have an idea of the current meta and how LoL in general is played.
So having a guide site where bad guides are made by bad/inexperienced players who don't know anything about this game yet get up votes (somehow) is what we like to call a "****ty situation". This site has gotten better, still needs a lot of work.
