Nope. MobaFire is supposed to be a guide site for everyone, not a site where all the high elo people make friends and then upvote each other's guides to 90%.
I think this would be terrible idea and it's completely unnecessary.
I know why are you proposing this, most of guides on MOBAFire are quite bad, even for low elo players (read <1000 elo).
Actually, for some time I thought about making guides better for everyone, there should be option to specify your guide, for which group of players it suits: for example there should be guides for silver and gold elo, guides for new players, guides for basic information about games (like jungling 101 or something like that), for high elo and of course for competitive team play.

Sorry jai, i'm going to have to agree with the masses on this one. While MOBAfire is supposed to be for everyone, there are already some imbalances in the voting system that are already in place. For example, a scout can upvote a guide, and +scout a guide. While +scouting a guide doesn't immediately cause the guide to approve, the guide may get featured, and will have more attention brought to it.
Allowing high ELO players to have more priveleges to specifically approve guides will bring more attention to the guides that are truly good.
Sounds pretty similar to the SOLOMID website, huh?
I hate to troll, but their system seems to be pretty effective at bringing the top guides out there.

"A person giving you advice isn't perfect and has their own shortcomings but they may give you the piece that you're missing."
I don't know. I feel like the current voting system is a little underwhelming, considering not a lot of people actually vote on guides as opposed to the number of viewers.
But still, this would encourage really stupid behaviour. Like upvote for upvote and that kind of thing.

+Rep pls if I helped! One click doesn't hurt :D Check out my first guide featuring Darius (NEED MOAR VOTEZ)!

You need to log in before commenting.
gold players - vote worth of 2
Un-verified or verified with under gold - vote worth of 1
Simple.
Maybe add that the players voting -3 or +3 should have to comment to send their BIG vote, otherwise they can just cast 1 vote like normal.
EDIT: There are a lot of people thinking this is a bad idea because of this site being for everyone. And that low elo players should be worth as much as high elo players when it comes to guides. Problem is that 90% of the people on this site are under 1200 elo, atleast from what ive seen. Guides that are ****ty for medium- high elo players but amazing for low elo players will get far more upvotes than downvotes.
Voting is the most important aspect to sites like these since if the top rated guides are bad for higher elo's or are upvoted only because arthurs have put in much time in them or are well-known the entire site will get a bad reputation and the good guides wont even get noticed by high elo players. How many 1800+ players do you think check mobafire guides? Almost ****ing noone. and this is only because low level players CONTROL all the guides on this site.
I am SO CLOSE to just archiving my guide on this site and put it on solomid.net instead. I dont really like most of Team solo mid's members or that their guides are featured so hard and i think their site is rubbish compared to this when it comes to designing the guides. Solomid.net's community is full of people who just bandwaggon with things and if they see something unorthodox they downvote. However, solomid.net's owners know something this site doesnt know. And that is separating good guides from bad guides.
So i dont care if low level players dont get as much power as high level players. Low level players dont have enough game knowledge to vote for guides anyway, and right now low level players have power over high level players because they are the majority.
Other suggestions i like:
I think it would be better if gold, platinum and diamond players have another voting system only for them.
So, you now have 2 vote systems. One for players with high raiting and one for the rest of players. Means you have 2 percentage numbers.
Problem i see with this is that low elo players will downvote guides that arent approved of gold-diamond players and that the low elo voting will be pointless.
