- "When you need it" implies "instantly".
Crystalline Flask restores 40 mana over 10 seconds.
- The earlier
Sightstone is bought the better. What's the point in doing
Ruby Crystal then saving to upgrade directly to
Ruby Sightstone? (Yes I am suggesting it is better to save your money, buy nothing, and buy a
Sightstone.)
- How will you be able to place "a ton of wards" with
Ruby Sightstone if it only allows you to put out 3 at a time? 3 is definitely not "a ton".
- How is
Aegis of the Legion a "great starter item"? It doesn't give any cooldown reduction, it's more expensive than other aura items, and it doesn't build out of a GP10.
Runic Bulwark's specialty is not just "more defense". It gains 0 armor when you upgrade from
Aegis of the Legion.
- Why Zeke's Herald? The aura got substantially nerfed now that it doesn't have the universal ASPD stat, making it completely a specialty for teams with like 3-4 strong AD characters.
- You completely ignored the other new support items.
hi embracing. yes i play ff14 now.
Yeah
Crystalline Flask is totally a better pick over
Faerie Charm , I mean they are going to be poking you as well, yeah its costing you 45 more, but the fack that it basically makes pots unneeded buy you save in long run at least.
And love the sightstones, not just cause they're rechargable wards, but for the minor reason of that once you put it in the item slot you want you never have to rearrange again.
now they got rid of the HoG and added sightstones to shift costs, same result basically, but kept Philosopher stone, its basically there now to supplement gear and Oracles, couldnt they made a gear to do it as well, oh well.
This is good info, my only question is, late game the amount gained from
Crystalline Flask is no longer as impressive, what would be a good six item to take in its place, but that may be thinking to far ahead, seeing how most competitive games never seem to last that long, from what ive seen.

Hey Astrolia,
Thanks for your comment.
When I say "When you need it" I really mean like you would need a potion, or like how
Faerie Charm would replenish your mana over time.
I agree about
Sightstone, the earlier the better. But if you have to go back to town and all you have is 475, I think it is better to put that money to some use than not use it at all. Perhaps you are right though. Maybe just grab a ward or two then next time back grab your sightstone.
If you go back and buy 1 or 2 wards, you suddenly have 5. It will be a lot easier to get a ton of wards than it previously used to be.
I think that the aura items are still needed. This is a good starter item in the sense that you can crab
Cloth Armor and
Null-Magic Mantle to give you some armor and magic resist then move into
Aegis of the Legion. What might you suggest for a better starting item for the late game?
I saw that it did get significantly nerfed. Attack speed traded for damage and a general reduction in the whole weapon itself. I still think it is useful if you are sticking close to your ADC.
To be fair, I didn't ignore them. I read them thoroughly and decided against them. Only two of them had auras, neither of which were very good, in my opinion. I felt the actives given were sub-par. Although, one I have given considerable time thinking about was
Twin Shadows. That one seems like it'd be nice for chasing people down.
Shard of True Ice is okay if no one is using
Frozen Heart.
Thanks for your comment.

It depends, honestly after IPL 5 I recognized a few different starts being used for support players.
Some ran pots/wards start so they could harass early for extended periods of time and still have some vision.
Others did full wards for a defensive advantage against early ganks.
Fairie Charm on a few to get the rush on philo.
Some just went boots for invasions purposes.
IDK if there is any "real" one way to start for supports.
It's become more common to actually see HoG rush (but now there is no HoG).
So while your ideas make sense, don't ignore the fact that it depends on how you intend to play with your ADC.

I think that when you can afford Philosopher's Stone that you should sell this item to get it. What do you think?
As for another item, maybe

Starting Items
Crystalline Flask gives 120 mana when you need it + an additional 300 health.
To give you 120 mana Faerie charm needs to be in use for 3 min. I say in use specifically because if you are not using it (for example when you first spawn) it is not giving you it's money's worth.
First time back to the Summoning Pool
Mid-Game Items
Once you have these items the mid game has started for you. I recommend doing your best to kill your bottom turret and begin to help others out while keeping an eye on bot. You should be placing a ton of wards at this point as well which should be easy given that you have
Late Game Aura Items
After you get your mid game items it is time to start grabbing items that will help the team during a fight. I recommend first grabbing
