So with the new champ out i've been thinking and trying different builds for him....

As a support he works better as tank
Top i think he has the conditions to be a bruiser
Now mid and jungle i dont think he can pull those off....

at mid he lacks the burst required that other champs bring, jungle i dont see him being able to clear it in a short time.... ( what you think? )

now something else i noticed not all carries work well with thresh...
Champs like Vayne and Kog'Maw do horrible

Who do you think its the best carry to team up with Thresh ?

I dont think Thresh in Midlane is that good and in the jungle he is a bit to slow (what I heard of ,have not tried yet).
I think as a bruiser / tank toplane with all the utility he has he is all right but I mean he is desinged as a support and bot lane is where he belongs.

About the best carry Thresh can team up , hmm... I dont really know.

So far Miss Fortune and Ashe have been the only carries I have supported, Miss Fortune being the better of the two.

Yeah I played a game with Draven as partner and it is pretty good , pull them wiht your Q and draven can nuke with his Q because the enemy ad carry is basiclly stunned for one sec + your E and his E are pretty good for disengage.
I would say draven is really good with Thresh.

Currently I'm 4/1 ranked Thresh. Really enjoying it, and the delay on his Q makes successful grabs feel even better than Blitzcrank. I've been playing him as a tanky support. One game where we were doing really well, I even added a blade of the ruined king to my build and LOL'ed at my passive's damage when fully stacked.

I love supporting CAIT! Her traps make your Q extremely easy to grab - especially when placed right at the edge of a bush. Leads to some brutal instagibness!

O.O LOVING THRESH.

I was super stoked when I saw the concept behind Thresh. I've played several games with him as a jungler and support, since those are my two main roles, and ive got some varying results.

As a support I have supported Draven, Ezreal, Graves, Kayle and Miss Fortune. The Draven one went the best out of the those, tied with Kayle, but I think that was really more because I didnt synergize well with the other three. Caitlyn, Ashe, and Urgot would make landing Death Sentence a breeze (because it is crazy hard to do in lane if they can see you and/or have half a brain), and thus make high aggression very easy. However I think that once you get used to DS, champs like Ezreal, Corki, and Tristana would be really good for high burst initiations in lane, because once you land DS they can jump in and just wreck face while you jump on top and hold them in place. Really it requires that you and your ADC be on the same page and have good communication. With thresh, communication trumps ALOT of other variables, and I think that could make any lane combo work fairly well.

As a jungler... Yeash. I was so stoked about his jungle because his ganks were going to be so brutal. Well... Its not as great as I initially thought. I didn't really realize the lag between click and max extension of Death Sentence, the wind up is killer and the projectile movespeed is pretty slow. Personally I would decrease the windup time and inrease travel speed, but that would probably make him totally OP. Flay takes some getting used to, of course, I still find myself pushing opponents away from me because i am so used to clicking on them when I want to hit them with an ability, and the range seems a bit shorter than you would think just looking at it. Now, his clear times.... Well, to be perfectly honest, they suck. Pretty bad. Im still in the process of trying different runes on him, right now im tinkering with a combination of AP and AS, that seems to work better than my straight up AP and Armor that i use for other AP based junglers, but im going to be working on actually using AD jungler runes and masteries on him just to make his clear times livable. I think that would work because he gets AP from souls, and let's be honest, his ratios don't really beg for him to deal alot of damage in a teamfight anyway.

Well, that's my basic opinion of him after about 10 games or so. It's not a pro opinion, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Good luck with him, I know im personally going to be working to make him one of my mains supports.

Thresh makes a kill lane a bit a la Leona, although with some key differences.

He should do good with Draven, Miss Fortune, Graves, Vayne (depending where he takes them to facilitate Condemn) and even Ashe (pre-6 is ok for kiting and a good poke lane, post-6 it's a lot of cc and pressure)
Thank you Byron for 2014's loudest laugh up till today

I actually just played Vayne + Thresh a few hours ago and we crushed an Ezreal + Sona lane. The grab is a free Condemn into the wall.

My impressions of him so far are that he's pretty similar to a Blitz lane. He has way more team utility and support, being able to execute lane ganks by pulling allies from a mile away directly into the fight, but in exchange his grab is slow and obvious and he doesn't have Blitz's escape/disengage ability.
