That sounds really bad, and I think it's very possible that this could actually happen; I don't put it beneath Micro$oft to try to **** their customers as hard as they can. (edit: Micro$oft is the biggest offender of EU law with over 2.2billion euros in fines, lol)
But in the end... I don't think I mind this happening if it sets an example. If Durango flops really hard because of all the ********, then other publishers/devs hopefully won't make the same mistakes.
That would make a better market for us consumers in the end.

Durango is the hero Gotham deserves.

i don't mind it happening at all. plus, theres no need to have 3 consoles. the best times imo was when there was only 2.

firstly, it will utilize different power states so that it is always on. when not in use, it will draw minimum amount of power. that and 'always on, always connected' will also download updates for your games when they become available. though for starters obviously this is a form of drm, requiring you to be on the internet always.
coupled that with the fact that discs are only for distribution, that it will fully install onto your harddrive, pretty much confirms that microsoft is going ahead with blocking used games. add that with the fact that each 'durango' will have built in kinect, that will also always be on, and this patent thing:
microsoft seems to be going all out on making sure no one is going to buy the 'durango'.
of course, you'll most likely still have to pay for live. and it also seems that the xbox wont be able to play media off of a disc, so no disc movies either.
