From my (limited) experience on Cassiopeia it seems to me that one of her greatest drawbacks is her vulnerability to ganks early game. I was hoping her pending update would address this issue more directly, but it doesn't feel as though it has. How relevant do you feel this issue is and how do you think her update will affect her general vulnerability?

Please note : Twitch's poison does not reset Twin Fang. It is not technically poison like Teemo's Poison Dart ; it is Deadly Venom, and deals true damage

Between all Cass guides, this is the one I like the most. However, I think you could go in depth about some items:
You don't mention Rod of Ages, I find it a great mana option to Seraph's Embrace.
What do you think about the changes to Will of the Ancients?

I build her the exact same way. However you should recomend to your readers to take one point in Miasma at lvl 5 for wave clearing and farming. Between 1-4 her wave clearing is pretty bad due to Noxious Blast not being able to kill the caster minions on its own. But when she hits lvl 5 her Miasma helps kill the caster minions and by taking Miasma only at lvl 8 she cannot wave clear as good.

Really good, detailed guide. I disagree about Veigar being a counter to Cassiopeia though, and for multiple reasons. First of all, Veigar wants to be able to farm his Q freely in lane, therefore champions that do well against him are champions who have a strong early game with powerful harass and zoning, and of course, Cassiopeia is one of, if not THE best early game mid laner in terms of harass and zoning potential. Also, Veigar's ultimate scales off of his enemy's AP, but as you can clearly see, Cassiopeia is one of the few mid laners who can actually not build a Rabadon's (so not have alot of AP) and still do alot of damage with liandry's, rylai's, and her other item choices. And an Athene's + a Rylai's + a Liandry's gives Cassiopeia 800 bonus health and 40 magic resist, which considering how hard she can bully Veigar pre-6, should be more than enough to survive his burst since his Q will not be very farmed.

Fantastic guide, really well written (about to try a game as Cass as a first-time Cass player!)

Only criticism I really have on an otherwise excellent guide is in your section for "Cassiopeia's Enemies". Alongside the notes and bulletpoints you provide, a 1-10 of difficulty would be nice. Having read a large amount of guides myself, a 1-10 is pretty much par for the course among guides right now, and I really think it would help dull mids (like myself) understand which enemies are the best to look out for.

Other than that, kudos on a really well written guide. Reaching the top 3 Cassiopeia guides is certainly commendable! +1!

Did you ever consider building Muramana instead of Seraph's Embrace ?
I mean Seraph's Embrace gives you a max shield of 2150*0,2+150 = 580Hitpoints for 3 seconds

Quoted:
Active: Toggle:
Your single target spells and attacks consume 3% of your current Mana to deal 6% of your current Mana as physical damage

But this increases your DMG by ~ 120 each time you hit the Twin Fang.
This would mean that you change a 580HP shield for 720DMG.
Math

Ok now let's take the ap of Seraph's Embrace into accound
Math

You will loose ~570DMG and 580HP from Seraph's Embrace and gain ~720 from Muramana.
And Petrifying Gaze stuns them for 2 Seconds anyway.
Extending the 3 seconds makes it even worse because your r+w dont have a 3 second cooldown.

Doesn't sound to awesome does it?
Well i haven't finished yet. I made the experience that i'm able to burn through 90% of my mana in Teamfights with Muramana
Math

After all we gain a DMG-Boost of ~ 630DMG assuming you hit everything for it's full period (glimpsing over to Miasma)

Well my personal favourite is that you're dealing more dmg to towers.

PS: I did all this math because i didn't want to say: "Hey dude use this, it "feels" to be better" :D

Nice guide, well coded. Some things to think about is Morellonomicon is a very powerful item because of her DoT and AoE mechanics making it easy to apply grievous wounds to multiple people. Spirit of the Spectral Wraith is also an interesting item, and worth testing around with.
