Hey, guys! We over on the moderator's subforum ("we" being mostly "me" in this context) have been thinking about competitive events. We have a "competitive scene" subforum right now, but I would say that about 90% of those posts are individual users' personal ranked journey threads. That's absolutely fine, but it leaves little room for actual competitive discussion, and also creates confusion for users trying to create threads in that subforum. Say somebody wants to discuss the most recent LCS EU match, and they pop over to the competitive scene subforum to do so - but it's filled with ranked journey threads.

When you go onto a site like Reddit, you know that there's always going to be an official thread talking about recent tournaments. MOBAFire would like to have that, too: a place where you know you can go to discuss eSports, without having to wonder if somebody posted anything in General. The important thing is that we want to promote this kind of discussion without the current confusion that the Competitive Scene subforum has. We have a few options that we'd like the community to weigh in on.

1. Create a new subforum with a name like "Competitive Discussion" and use it to talk about current tournaments, upcoming material, interesting pro builds, roster changes, etc. Ranked journey threads get a new subforum dedicated only to ranked journeys.

2. Create a subforum within the current Competitive Scene subforum that is dedicated to this kind of material.

3. Create a new subforum called "Competitive Discussion" or something similar, and move all the ranked journey threads into a new subforum inside it.

4. Create new threads dedicated just for competitive events (i.e. "Official LCS NA Discussion Thread") and keep these as stickies in the Competitive Scene subforum.

5. Nobody cares, keep the current system.

Thoughts?

Might aswell create a special forum for ranked journeys.

Sounds like the easiest yet effective solution :D

I was thinking about creating a post with lcs resumes and allowing space for comments and discussion but i wanted it to be well done so i decided to not do it (my guides keep bordering the "outdated" frame)

I suppose the best option would be split the competitive forum into two sections:

- Personal
- Professional

I voted #1. I don't like the idea of putting peoples ranked journey threads into a sub forum of a sub forum - no one would ever find it.

But I do agree that there needs to be a eSports Discussion forum (talk about current tournies etc), and a Competitive Play forum (for ranked threads, tier lists etc).

i like the first option all of the other ones are kinda confusing, and i like talking about the LCS and such but there arnt a lot of threads about it anyways, but i think making stickies would be kinda hard to have multiple topics

I don't think there's gonna be enough discussion to warrant making a new subforum (honestly, I don't believe the high amount of personal ranked threads is the only reason people don't discuss the pro scene). Sticky threads should do.

Seeing as there's very little interest in this thread to begin with, we're going to leave the current system as is.
