1. Item actives never proced spellblade
2. Hydra never had a 3s CD on its active
3. BT is more auto-attack reliant. Hydra splashes, dealing more overall damage, decreasing the need to auto-attack other nearby targets. Hydra also has an active, which is essentially a 5th ability with a 1.0 bonus AD ratio and your base AD as its base damage.
4. Hydra has a WAY better build path than BT. BT has a BF Sword as its component, meaning you have to sit on 1500g before your power actually increases, which isn't ideal especially when you're losing lane/don't have a lot of farm. Hydra has multiple cheap items which build into it, and every little component is beneficial to you during the early game. Also, you won't have to sit on a large amount of money before suddenly getting a spike in power.
5. You're using personal experience and a static build. Builds should never be static, ever. ALWAYS adjust to the current situations. Unless you're Ninjaken playing jungle Nocturne, but he's #3 in Challenger Tier.
I don't think BT is more auto attack reliant, also 25 AD is about 60 more damage on E>Q. I don't like the way hydra builds anyway, just doesn't go well with my item order and i usually end the game with 4-5 items.
No, BlackIceT's guides are decent, and having no ranked games played doesn't mean it shouldn't be up there. There can be better guides, but saying that it doesn't belong up there is stretching it.
Okay I may have gone a bit far saying they should be deleted, but it shouldn't be at the top just because it's the longest thing on mobafire. He's a bit hypocritical as well, especially concerning that ravenous hydra.
EDIT: And having no ranked games is a pretty big impact. You don't get better by going against the same level people. Not saying that normals is just bad kids, but not the best either.
Um, don't buy Maw because the stats suck and you're wasting a lot of money on a bubble that isn't always necessary?
Hydra isn't "okay", it's fantastic, period. E > Q > Ult > Hydra is a TON of burst damage in team fights. Always buy it? No, probably not. Is it good? Yes. Are the reasons Shorty provided good enough to say that it's not good? Not even close.
You don't have any idea what you're talking about, do you?
"Wu scales good on AD"
Hydra gives 25 less AD in return for hundreds of additional AoE damage. I'd say worth it.
"Wu isn't an epic auto auto attack champ"
So let's buy the item without an active that gives damage. Let's also buy the item that needs more auto attacks to use effectively.
"Ravenous Hydra was OP until it had 3s CD on active to proc spellsword effect of Trinity Force."
What the ****?
This is such a great comment lol. My god how did blackicet person make 3 top guides when they've never played a ranked game before? It's just kinda sad that those guides will forever be at the top. Maybe we can ask mobafire to remove them. It'd do the community a world of good.
Hence why I said it is not core. *facepalm*
Yes well........I had a major derp. Sue me :D
I started Elixir 4 pots ward like I usually do with AD champions whose mechanics I'm not solid with, and basically just rushed Brutalizer-BT. You don't really need to blow 400 precious starting gold on 20 MR when you do so much damage.
If you notice, I put three starting builds, and one of them is that very start you describe. This is my personal favorite start. I rush Brutalizer into TF with
Concerning Maw it is true that you would not need it EVERY game
Hence why I said it is not core. *facepalm*
Hydra only works with your auto attacks and
No man you're missing the whole point, it's the active that makes hydra worth buying. If it didn't have that active I would not touch it with a 3-foot pole.
Concerning Maw it is true that you would not need it EVERY game but let's consider this team:
@tehAsian
Why not make
Edit: Plus Maw can save you from that pesky

BlackIceT already covered the Maw of Malmortius part. On Ravenous Hydra i would add that becuse wu scales good on AD The Bloodthirster is more effective, especially since wu isn't an epic auto attack champ. Ravenous Hydra was OP until it had 3s CD on active to proc spellsword effect of Trinity Force.
