just decided to review the accounts i played with (as teammates and foes) and noticed a rather disturbing unbalance in the teams. Enemy team was all (or almost all) under 1200 elo (lolking rating) and my team had 2 silvers (V and III) and a bronze I.

i did a ****py job in my lane. I decided to engage at level 2 and forgot to use Exhaust, yielding FB to Quinn. I managed to kill her, giving Thresh my life. All lanes were losing and Nocturne had preference for botlane, even though i had asked him to camp top and completely deny Nasus. H aided in giving Caitlyn a double but soon Hecarim came from where i should have warded already and we got wiped. Meanwhile, Janna had given 2 kills to Kennen and Nasus got a kill on Volibear.
they got several drakes, Caitlyn was a level behind, I was 2 or 3, Thresh had the level advantage. Fortunately Hecarim came for a river gank when Nocturne came from lane. Thresh and Quinn died while Hecarim was fleeing and Kennen was coming from river. I initiated on him (i was in brush), died, but Hecarim decided to return. Janna decided to join the party. this provided a shutdown on Kennen and a turrert, from a 4 for 1 trade. After that we managed the map rather well, even though our teamfights were sometimes really sloppy. We claimed baron after an ACE and pushed to win.

Because, unless you want to gank early, a blue start is the best option. Why waste part of your precious red buff in the jungle when it's so much stronger during a gank? Besides, an earlier first blue for you also means an earlier second blue which goes to your mid laner.
