Okay, let's talk about xin zhao. I need some tips on how to play him, build, etc.
Currently, I'm playing him as a jungler because I know his pre-6 ganks are very dangerous and can often net a kill. However, my problem is my role and items. Is he played as an initiator tank or an assassin? How about the items?

On term of roles, you usualy initiate a lot, although if your team has a double initiate comp its even better.
***acin Xin is too easy to shut down, and tank Xin get easely ignored imo.
My standard jungle build goes like this:
Item Sequence

Health Potion
50

Health Potion
50

Health Potion
50

Health Potion
50

Health Potion
50

Madred's Razors
750

Boots
300

Vampiric Scepter
900

Giant's Belt
900

Blade of the Ruined King
3200

Mercury's Treads
1250

Randuin's Omen
2700

Last Whisper
1450
And then I usualy round up my build depending on what I or my team needs.

I didn't find the xin zhao guides much help because they don't elaborate what to do in teamfights, who to focus, etc.
Okay, my question now is who to charge. Should I charge anyone close me then ult, charge the carry, or be a peeler? With enough CDR I can knock up bruisers charging our carry every few seconds

If your team is ahead, you can go str8 for their fron lines to allow your team to follow in.
But however if you have a team mate like

If you are undergeared do not initiate because you will get melted extremely fast. If this occasion occurs, wait for a good opportunity to start a fight, or let someone else start it for you.

Very good points to consider. Thank you sir
Edit: Sorry wrong quote
You shouldn't have ''OKAY IM GONNA USE MY ULT TO PEEL THIS FIGHT'' or ''OKAY ILL USE MY ULTIMATE ON FOUR PEOPLE'' in your head before the fight begins. You don't know how you're gonna have to use it... It's pretty versatile so wait till it's the best moment to use it.
What you can do with it:
1- Ult as many people as possible if they're getting too close to each other for good AoE damage and extra resistances
2- Ult 1 or 2 enemies that are on top of your carries, it will help your carries to survive.
3-
Flash behind an enemy or
Audacious Charge a minion behind that enemy, then ult to push him back into your team.
4- Separate the enemy team. You can really only do this if you have quick thinking and the enemy team has specific positioning. For example if an enemy is close to a wall, you can ult his team, pushing that enemy over the wall, making him useless for almost the entire fight (unless he flashes over to get back in).
5- To finish off a high sustain and dangerous champion like an ADC with
Bloodthirster +
Blade of the Ruined King or a
Swain, etc. If you didn't use your ulti yet and you see that an enemy that regains a **** ton of HP back per second is really close to being dead but will not die, just ult him, **** % of current HP damage.
6- To save your out of position teammate (or yourself). Make sure you don't
Audacious Charge anyone because he won't get pushed back. Run between your teammate and your enemies, ult them away, run for your life.
What is
Xin Zhao's role? It depends on the game, on the enemies, on your team, on how fed you are and on your build. If you have enough damage to take out a squishy by yourself, then go for it. Wait for the fight to start, jump the enemy carry, ult everyone else away, kill him.
If you built tanky or if the enemy has a bunch of fed assassins, you're probably going to want to save your ult for initiation OR to peel enemies off your carry.
Hope that helped.
