Mid Zac, or Zac in mid Elo?
Jungle Zac is really strong because his ganks are extremely hard to ward against, if not impossible. His jump has enough range to jump to you from outside of your vision, meaning he can just lane-gank you very easily.
I dunno why I don't see him that much tbh.

He does absurd amounts of damage late game with just Sorc shoes.
Although his level 1-4 is pretty damn bad :/
I'd say he's good for mid elo since no one knows how to shut him down properly, and he'll just farm up to level 6 with no problem.

I'm not sure about ranked games (so far in Silver I've been able to pick

He's one of the stronger junglers currently. Not the strongest, but he has a pretty unique kit, relatively quick clear, good sustain and tricky ganks. I'm pretty sure people max E on him now in jungle so your jump range scales up fast. He kind of reminds me of Malphite in team fights - good initiate, durable, but then kinda just walks around and hits things. You should be able to carry in soloqueue (if you're good with him) because he actually snowballs pretty well with levels and a few damage items like Sunfire Aegis.
As a top laner he's very competitive, as seen in the allstar games. Haven't tried him there myself though.
Soooo, yeah, I'd say he's worth a buy if you're interested in him. His viability shouldn't be an issue, anyway.
