it is completely reasonable that people are upset about this given the way the stream was presented. branding everyone as a sivhd fanboy is making your argument immature and inaccurate (talking to demon here). this was a problem before sivhd made it one. it's fine if mobafire promotes other streamers, it's actually a pretty cool idea, but all they had to do was make their stream not autoplay so people were making a conscious choice to watch the stream.
apologize for what? what mistake did Mobafire make?
They did nothing wrong, they have every right to have the stream run on auto-play per their agreement with Twitch. Twitch is as responsible, perhaps even more at fault, for giving Mobafire permission to do so. Yet, I don't see you criticizing twitch.

Hmm.. First of all, the statement / shutting down the stream is a response to all the negativity we've had, perhaps even mainly the false accusations.
Putting that aside for a second and focusing on the issue you raise, I personally did not post anything like the message you included as I am in no position to decide on whether something will be changed or not. Note that, while it may seem that our focus lies solely on stopping people from spreading lies about bots and rule breaking, that does not mean this has not been mentioned/discussed internally.
As of right now though, I don't think a decision has been made. Open to feedback on this one, as the post says ;)

This could have been done better, but maaan..
So much useless shizzle from e.x SivHD and his viewers. Why even bother ?
Half of the criticsm is coming from trolls or people who don't even know what is actually happening. Kinda dissapointed in SivHD to attack like that with false statements.
Solution: Make the MFTV box higher and stop auto-play. Then it would "promote clearly" and get viewers who are interested in it's content instead of everyone using the forum.

I agree that Twitch is responsible for the situation once they gave MFTV permission to show up stream on the front page. The could have at least announced that mobafire had their permission. But as far as I know of, they did not, which I find rather lame.
But honestly, all parties made mistakes here.
SivHD made too quick accusations, some of his fans blindly follow those accusations and start bothering mobafire. Mobafire itself could've realised that auto-playing streams on the front page, might cause some disturbance. Twitch just should have taken responsibility once they saw that there was some disturbance going on the MFTV channle (I am sure there are SivHD fans that report the MFTV channel and stuff like that, Twitch should notice something like that)
My point remains, I think that one of the people in charge of MFTV should speak with SivHD. Twitch ain't really helping so far, so mobafire gotta do this himself.

The mistake made was the gravest sin in business, pissing off your customer base.
I've seen a lot of the defense here centered around "Twitch gave permission, no law is being broken" reasoning, and I just don't think you guys understand the reality here. Twitch giving permission doesn't matter, MOBAfire admins thinking it acceptable doesn't matter. What matters is that clearly the community does not find this acceptable. And this idea that everyone who thinks the way MOBAfire has acted is some kind of mindless SivHD fanboy is silly. I've never watched that man's stream, I probably never will, but I still find what MOBAfire has done here to be pretty ****ty. That is where most of the detraction comes from, and all Siv has done really is take a conversation that has been happening all week long and put it somewhere where reddit mods can't immediately delete it.
Now whether you and MOBAfire's admins like it or not, SivHD and his fans and the populace of r/leagueoflegends and the general discussion forum are exactly who MOBAfire is trying to attract with their stream. These are your customers, and they are not happy.
Now of course no one can force MOBAfire to take the stream down or turn off auto-play or do anything that they don't want to do. They are within their rights to do whatever they want so long as they follow Twitch's TOS, but there are consequences to this that should be taken into account.
Mobafire's members (the vast majority) don't give a ****
Twitch doesn't give a ****
The only people who give a **** are people don't have any business coming here. People who don't use MF really shouldn't be complaining about something that doesn't affect them. I've seen MF streamers be at the top of Twitch before, and no one complained. SivHD is just talking out of his *** and spreading incorrect rumors.

Disagreed, the gravest sin is going bankrupt

If this was court, and Mobafire shows evidence that Twitch gave them permission to do it, then Mobafires name would be clean, and Twitch would be the only one responsible.

They aren't sure if it is acceptable, that is why they removed it from the front page.

The community is bigger than just you and the other people that disagree. The community includes everyone using the services offered by, in this case, Twitch, mobafire and SivHD's channels. So that also includes us. You cannot say that a community disagrees with mobafire, because mobafire is also a community. If we were to held a vote on this matter, there will be probably be 20% find it unacceptable, 20% understand it, 60% doesn't care.

His accusation was that mobafire used bots, mobafire didn't. The accusations of SivHD were to quick and hold little basis, that is why some of us think SivHD stupid. If he would actually talk to one of the big guys on mobafire instead of yannis, we would never have this problem at all.

Again, community holds more than just the people that disagree with someone.

Auto play is already off. And Twitch can force us to stop, which they will not, since they gave mobafire permission.

Which is why we are discussing this topic right now.

most of the people pissed off by this don't even watch MobafireTV in the first place, most of them probably don't even visit mobafire. I don't see how theyre our customer base. The people that consistently come to Mobafire will continue to do so. It's the most successful fan-based League of Legends site by a long shot, so quite frankly I'm perfectly fine if SivHD is pissed at mobafire, I didn't really want him here in the first place
If the Community doesn't find it acceptable, then the community should also take it up with twitch, yet none of them are doing that? why because SivHD only made it a mobafire issue. he's extremely uninformed and hes wrong about alot of it. Even better, SivHD is a partner with Twitch, why doesn't he take it up with them? Because he wants to be ignorant of the facts and make a big deal about it.
Every stream tries to attract every customer, the reality of doing that is impossible, every stream is vying for your time, so I guess every person on the planet is technically a customer, but as I said previously, Mobafire will cater to the customers that are likely to frequently come back and back and expand.
You know, for as much as you say that you have a problem with Mobafire, you made and account and continue to come here. So it seems pretty hypocritical, not that I care, if Mobafire's successful thats fine with me

Tell me, how was this a problem before Siv? Who was this a problem to? Was it addressed? Why were there people swarming MOBAFire's stream chat saying "FAKE VIEWERS" and "SIV HD ARMY"? You know what's immature and inaccurate? Siv calling out MOBAFire with false accusations and misinformation and cussing every chance he was proven wrong and simply shook it off saying "This can't be true"
There was no mistake. Therefore, nothing to apologize to and nothing to fix. What needs to be fixed is Siv followers bashing on MOBAFire on Facebook and Reddit.
The stream was shut down for a valid reason. People were swarming and trolling the chat, making the stream ineffective as the true viewers and the streamer could not interact with all, with the streamer ignoring the chat completely. It wasn't to cover up anything. Siv and his followers did no "justice". In fact, if anything, they carried out injustice by forcing a genuine stream to shut down and for MOBAFire to put in so much work for mere speculation.
