Thanks everyone :3

Not quite sure how much ranked I'll play for the next couple of weeks, might be a bit less because of university stuff.

Anyway, a quick update in terms of my roster (since the one in the OP is very outdated): I'm trying to stick to no more than 3 champs per role. I expect to narrow this list down more and more towards the end of the season.

Current roster (champs are in order of skill from left to right, roles are in order of skill from top to bottom):
Solo Top: Zac, Renekton, Jayce
AD Carry: Ezreal, Varus, Graves
Support: Lulu, Janna, Thresh
Mid Lane: Zed, Orianna, Zyra
Jungle: Jarvan IV, Lee Sin, Nautilus

learn nami for support, she is hella strong
+ you might wanna add in some long ranged poke for mid, as in lux/nida

and maybe learn a hypercarry for bot

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think I'll change much about this roster, especially not for roles I don't play often. Right now, it's more important for me to stick to a limited pool of champions in both my normal as well as my ranked games ;)

Mmhmm. Stick to a small roster it's smarter.

I would suggest picking high winrates for your small roster if you can but if being comfy is more important than just rock it out.

Yeah, exactly. Viability is a huge factor for me when it comes to learning new champions, but right now I don't really want to learn anything new, I just want to focus on improving with (a few of) these champions and be completely comfortable when playing them. If new fotm champions come around, that's cool, but as long as these champs remain strong/viable I'd rather play them than pick another champ "cuz (s)he's OP".

I know my roster is still too big and I will keep narrowing it down. I'll probably try to play my high win rate champs (10-2 Zac and 11-4 Ezreal, for example) as much as possible.

Personal win rates and game wide win rates are different. Both are important, but I was referring to game wide win rate champions.

If every bronze player can play sona and win like 56%, then sona is op. lol. For example.

Zac is a strong champ. I think he sitsd around 51% win rate :]

Game 113+114

Duo Queue with DiscipleD (GMD's smurf, formerly known as Agrimenta)

Very mediocre start to life in gold.

First game GMD and I decided to swap last second so I went mid as Zed while he supported with Thresh. My lane went ok (vs Ahri) and I had a cs lead, but top lane was pretty far behind ( Renekton vs Tryndamere) and we kinda noticed this going into teamfights, despite our bot lane (GMD supported a random Caitlyn) doing well. We fell behind as a team pretty fast, but the biggest problem was Caitlyn's attitude: she started flaming early on and mentioned that every lane except bot lost, even though I was ahead in cs and neither me or Ahri had a kill. Flawless logic. Anyway, overall I'm not too happy about my play in teamfights, my Zed is kinda rusty atm. Should've probably tried to roam top and help out before Renek lost it completely, too.

Second game we actually played and laned against the same player who played Caitlyn in game 1, who now supported an Ezreal as Leona (meanwhile GMD played Lulu and supported me). Despite GMD feeding First Blood early, our lane went well and eventually I was pretty far ahead of Ezreal. The game seemed to be going in our favour, but a couple of bad decisions (mainly by our mid Zed) led to bad teamfights that kept their team in the game. Their Shaco was also incredibly fed and could kill me pretty fast, so he was a real threat that I had to watch out for every time, pretty annoying.

In the end the game went on for almost an hour before a bad teamfight sealed the deal and we lost. Their Leona was once again flaming all game and will most likely be banned soon, probably the most childish and irrational summoner I've met in ranked so far.

LP: 0

Fun fact: I played against a gold I opponent in Game 1 and a gold I / gold II combo in Game 2. Their entire team in Game 2 consisted of gold I's and II's, in fact. Now that is not necessarily a problem (it's good practice and I felt I generally did ok, though I did notice I got punished harder for mistakes I made in teamfights), but as a gold V who's duoqueueing with a gold III, does that make sense? Do I have to prove I'm better than gold V by beating high golds? What will I have to beat if I get closer to plat? I mean, iunno Riot, but it makes your system look pretty damn f*cked up.

1. If your MMR is higher than your current rank, your LP gains will increase and losses will decrease in magnitude. This might explain a bit why you're facing higher ranked opponents.
2. Duo queueing raises your MMR by the equivalent of around two divisions. So, if you have the MMR of a gold V, when you duo the system treats you as if you had the MMR of a gold III for that game. (Not precisely accurate but this is roughly how it works).
Thanks to Fatelblade for the sig!
