Why would I need Runic Affinity if I have Athene's Unholy Grail and mana regeneration Seals?
Still, if you think you need more mana regeneration, you can buy Morellonomicon, like I said in the build. Besides, sometimes jungler needs that blue buff way more than you do. Kha'Zix for example eats lots of mana with his W...

Oh, I dunno. Full CDR and mana regen is pretty damn good? Much better than some ****ty 1 extra point in Meditation / Expanded Mind .

Aw comon, learn to read. I said Abyssal Mask is very rare item to buy and you should only buy it when there are lot of AP champs in the team or you get seriously focused by enemy APC. Plz read carefully.

Still a ****ty item and my point still stands.

Are you soo lazy you can't say Deathfire Grasp with full name? -.-

Yes. You understood me, though. So what's the problem?

I can only say, that all items I listed can be good for Xerath if used properly.

Not necessarily.

Oh you came back. Welcome back good sir!

+ Already a lot better than your previous attempt
+ 'okay' build

- Sucky music :(
- Q max at level 10?
- 21/0/9 is good but needs Runic Affinity
- Mr glyphs > scaling ap glyphs in 99% of games.
- Rylai's isn't a good item because you have stuns, you dont need the slow
- DFG isn't that good because you'll be sitting at 1.5k range anyway
- ROA isn't an late-game item because of the passive, Abyssal is useless because of passive range.

+YOUR 'RULES' PAGE GAME ME THE BEST LAUGH I'VE HAD IN A LONG ****ING TIME!

You gib your damage by suggesting Rod of Ages. Abyssal Mask is an aura item that's wasted, since you're not in range anyway. Better off taking Void Staff. Same applies for DFG, although it is nice if you can land an E after DFG, into a Q.

Is something wrong with your eyes? Shall I clarify for you?

No skill maxed by level 9. Maxed the wrong skill second.

Masteries has 9 points in Utility, but you didn't take Runic Affinity .

look, dude, if you write a guide then you should know your stuff and not ask for "criticism" or ask for help. pls learn to play a champ before writing a guide and if you dont know how to play a champ then dont ask around what you should do better, just look at a good guide(<- not yours). well, you already heard whats wrong but there is 1 thing i want to add. you dont play xerath how he is meant to be played AND you play him the wrong way. just to make that clear.

You are trying to convice me, that Xerath can't be build this way? Well... Then I could suppose you never played Xerath before.
I ment to make a build, not a guide... Did I accidently say I made a guide somewhere??

1. If I'm not playing Xerath as he is ment to be, that doesn't mean I'm playing him wrong, I'm just playing him a bit different then.

2. In early game you don't need 40% cooldown, because you don't even have that much mana to spam.
If you succesfully hit moste of the Q-W combo, your enemy won't stay in the lane for long.
Arcanopulse doesn't give more damage than Mage Chains, that is completely false statement!

3. Even if you don't buy Void Staff, you will still get 500 AP, not enough? lolz
Liandry's Torment is good item, if you know how to use it, I said that.

Deathfire Grasp is just fine, it gives you 120 AP and CDR. Active might be a bit of a problem, but you can use it in teamfights, especialy if gap closers or carries come close to you. Active helps you burst down an enemy threat easier.

1. If you intended to just make a build, make it clear in the title. Thing is, the majority of publications on this site are guides.

2. I didn't say your "not playing as Xerath is meant to be played" was incorrect, I just suggested you try adapting to the long-ranged artillery spam play style, which is simply better overall.

3. I don't think I mentioned CDR anywhere. I was talking about the massive differences in the cooldowns between a Rank-1 and a Rank-5 locus of power. Plus, most team fights begin occurring when you'd be around level 12. With your build, if you cancel Locus for any reason, you become useless for the duration of the fight.

4. The point of buying Void Staff is not for the AP, it's for the %MPen. I think you've noticed that it only grants 70 AP... On a side note, you can never say you have "enough" of an offensive stat if you're a DPS champion.

5. By the time you get in range for DFG Active you'll already be dead. The stats are good, but it's not worth it if you can't utilize the active.

You should read and understand my comments fully before you begin objecting.
