1. Runes: Reds and yellows must NEVER be AP. Reds MUST be magic pen. No exceptions.

2. Masteries: Utility tree is wrongly specced.

3. Item build: Too squishy.

4. Skill sequence: Retribution is correct. For any champion with a one-two punch combo, you always max the 'two'. This utilizes your mana more efficiently should you miss the 'one'. The two exceptions to this rule are Jarvan IV because his E has utility (many Jarvans max Q first, but not all do) and Blitzcrank, whose Q has a massive mana cost anyway which doesn't scale up.

First and foremost, most of the information on your cheat sheet is bad.

1. Runes. If you know they're not ideal, why are you using those? AP Marks and Seals are both awful, and AP glyphs aren't the best option. If you really have *that* much problem with mana, to the point where you have to take Clarity, just get Greater Seal of Mana Regeneration. You need MPen as well. Full on AP just doesn't work. At all.

2. Why in the world would you start with a Doran's Ring? An early-game Anivia's most reliable source of damage is from her auto attacks, which has a longer range than most champions in the game. Auto attack harassing is far more reliable than attempting a Q-E. Also, you do not have enough sustain. At all. You don't have vision either. In other words, you have 0 escape if you ever get ganked.

3. Your items are pretty awful.
--Most importantly, where are your boots? Anivia is just about THE slowest champion in the game, and you don't buy boots?
--ok. What's with the Lich Bane. Are you crazy? The stats are all beneficial, but do consider Anivia's slow auto attack animation that's comparable to Karthus's... And considering you already have close to no survivability..Get rid of this. Please.
-- Deathfire Grasp. Now I'm seriously lost. ALTHOUGH Anivia is capable of dealing burst damage with a Q-E or R-E combo, her strength lies in the ability to deal constant damage over time to an area, like Karthus in his Defile form. You might argue that it helps to make the target take more damage. However..Do consider the minimal range you get on the active. In other words, the only target you'd ever get a chance to use the active on would be on the opponent's tank, which is kind of pointless. Again, you need survivability. It's so much more important.

4. Your spells..Seriously. What is wrong with you. Why are you maxing Q over E? Not only does Q have a massive mana cost as it is being scaled, it is also notorious as being one of the slowest skill shots in the game. Compare that to Frostbite, where although the damage seems little, has a short cooldown, as well as a double damage effect that can EASILY be applied, especially after level 6. Basically, when you have E maxed, you can theoretically deal 350(+100% AP) damage at a cost of 90 mana, every 5 seconds, or even more frequently if you have CDR. It's also far more reliable to land.

5. Clarity? What are you, level 20? Do NOT take that spell, period. If you're complaining about mana issues, consider your build.. No mana supply early game outside of a measly Tear (You usually want at least that and a chalice and/or catalyst), the complete lack of regen and extra supplies, and you maxing a spell that costs 160 mana per cast..


Also..Your guide content..It's good to have some color, but you're WAY overdoing it. You've made the text impossible to read with all the random colors.

Finally..You do not play Anivia as a burst mage. Never ever.

As Anivia, this guide allows you to instakill the ADC with Q + E combo, and he does have survivability with Athenes unholy grail and Liandry's Torment. He also has the shield active from Seraphs Embrace. What are you talking about "0 survivability." And as Anivia you really are supposed to space correctly, but you still can use Lich Bane because Anivia has 650 Range, higher than most ADC's.

On another note, you should get some Armor/HP Seals, Magic Penetration Marks, and possibly movement speed quintessences. You should almost defiantly change Deathfire Grasp to Zhyona's HourGlass. As when you are stasis in the Active of it, you should still be able to use Glacial Storm. Also, you might want to change your guide into maxing E first, as you should get more guaranteed damage with Frostbite than maxing Flash Frost first and instead relying on pure aim and mechanics.

Well, that was kind of the point of this guide. I focused mainly on damage without much survivability. I would see why you would do this, but Anivia can do without survivability as long as she has some team mates to back her up.

downvote as soon as i saw your cheatsheet... you have 0survivability, it will take the opponent adc 2shots to kill you, and then 3shots to kill your egg. GJ you're completely useless to your team ^^

Chalice of Harmony, Tear of the Goddess and/or catalyst the protector. Should solve the majority of your mana problems.

Hihi I actually have mana problems on anivia at all stages in the game xD

Yeah, I guess that is the case for many champions, but I just think that bringing clarity, for Anivia, is a great way to stay in lane early and stay in teamfights longer, but I can see why clarity can be useless late-game since sometimes you tend to use less mana sometimes and just spam skills more at others. That's just my take on it.

Its honestly just too useless, if you run out of mana, then just go back, or wait to regen your mana. Late-game, you'll never use it because no one will have mana problems

Is it really that bad of a thing? I mean, I take it for the sustainability and it has worked out quite well for me. Though I do sometimes miss a few kills here and there.
Edit: I added that if you didn't want to bring Clarity, you could bring Ignite.

Never take Clarity, like, EVER
