^ nope. Steal their kills, carry ****.
People have summarized it quite nicely already, but I'll try to add something: Make use of
Teleport. If you constantly win lane, you're probably pushing towers and getting them before they get yours. Great job. Make use of it with teleport for splitpushing, on any champ except
Ryze cuz holy **** don't do it. Go in, push, recall, go help another lane, rinse repeat. This makes for a good map presence and keeps your lane pressure up, opening other lanes to harass. Also, makes for easier Dragon/Baron and scary ganks. See ward, click D, kill, get tower, win game, open another beer, yell obscenities, sleep.
Also, roaming. Help other lanes, not to feed your teammates, but to press for towers.

Simple. Due to the nature of how top lane works, it is mathematically the hardest role to carry from.
It is harder to carry from than support because in the top lane you only have influence on yourself, The mid laner, Enemy Jungler, The enemy laner. Where as Support has influence over Mid, Enemy Jungler, Duo bot, and MID AND JUNGLER HAS INFLUENCE EVERYONE.
Unless you take teleport there is no way you can influence bot lane. I hated Top lane from the longest time because every time i went top, My bot lane ends up losing.
Usually after i take down the enemy tower in the top lane i usually take their Red/Blue buff depending on if i am purple/blue side and i ward the enemy jungle so i know where the enemy jungle is. If i really am ahead of my enemy laner i usually can 1v2 the enemy jungler and the enemy top laner, i don't see why you can't do the same Thalia.
Oh yeah WARDS,WARDS,WARDS,WARDS,WARDS,WARDS,WARDS THATS HOW YOU WIN GAMES YOU CAN WIN GAMES FROM THE TOP LANE IF YOU BUY 10 MILLION WARDS AFTER YOU HAVE A LEAD OVER YOUR OPPONENTS.
Idk you always seem to whine about bad teammates Thalia, so the only thing advice i can really give for you is.... CONGRATULATIONS ON GOLD 4.

As the suckiest laner out there what i see working out for people who want to help their team when they're in front is, call a dragon in 1 minute, push out the lane beyond your enemies tower - go do the dragon and port back while it's being done(if enemy doesn't want to kill it that is) return to your fresh creeps just arriving at your tower.
Or do as i'm gonna do from now on, pick nocturne and farm the enemy mid-champion.

And the noob says: how do I know which champs are splitpushers?
??

Thanks to FatelBlade, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, TheNamelessBard, GrandmasterD, aviseras and koksei for the awesome signatures
Focus, you know which champs are great splitpushers most of the time from those that have high mobility and really fast wave clear yet can still receive decent damage and deal equal amounts of damage.
Singed,
Tryndamere,
Master Yi are all good exemples of splitpushers. The more time they can keep the other team busy by chasing you across the map then you did your part in distracting them and putting pressure on the map making it so that your team can push objectives such as dragon, baron, towers inhibitors, etc. hope that helped:)

Any champion can splitpush, just watch xPeke pushing on
Orianna and
Ahri. The thing is how you go about it.
That being said, there are prime examples for this strategy, mainly
Sunfire Aegis
Shen,
Udyr (probably the best considering dueling, time needed to take tower, waveclear, survivability, etc),
Singed, and any other with decent waveclear and means of escaping or winning 1v1s on dudes that come to defend.
Also,
Teleport. Have I mentioned it before? Bait and outsmart.

Also,

I think a champion that splitpushes well and is strong throughout most of the game is your best bet. Usually I try and dominate my lane, split push, and isolate the 1v1.
I like
Shen,
Nidalee,
Renekton,
Katarina, etc.
Alot of these champions are really strong 1v1 but also have a lot of escapability.
I don't really know how to describe it, but it's my style of play where i try and get the lane 1v1 and put pressure on the map

Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!
Yorick relies on his ult on the fed member of the team that should not be (ofc) a tank.
in soloQ where you know team will feed its not that good pick unless u are winning lane 24/7 stompig hard and winning alone but i doubt if u are trying to raise.
The reason oh why tryndamere had so much success(but also other champs like zed, shen nasus etc)
is that they can take down turrets and bunch of minions quickly and doesnt need too much kills to be effective(ex:0-2 nasus in 20/30 mins if farmed well will take down almost everybody and tank like hell so you are neither too squishy to deal dmg nor too tanky and being ignorable for no dmg)
if you splitpush you gain global gold, map control and a minor obj control based on the line you are.(an inhib almost means free baron)
if you win lane but lose even if your team didnt too too bad like 10-10 or 10-15 you should revise your knowledge of focus/fights/engages and so on.

My suggestion is that you dominate your lane, and then move on and dominate your teammates lanes, without stealing their kills. Then push onto victory.
