You would just have 2 Mana Potions, poppy scales extremly well with Health Potions thanks to her passive (and since most top laners run a bunch of health potions, you need them to outtrade them).

Clarity would be even **** if it would refill the mana of all champs in the team to 100%.

I find it funny that the champ people thought would be dead brings back an item which people thought it would be dead. Poppy+ Hextech Gunblade, the reincarnation of death.

I don't think that Riven is a hard matchup for Poppy; it's just kinda hard to catch her. You have to bait her Q and then stun her into a wall or ask your jungler to come in with some cc.

Riven is a medium level match up for Poppy it all depends on individual skill at that point but a good Riven won't stand next to walls making Poppy worthless in lane all you can really do as Poppy is try to bait the enemy Riven into a tower dive.

Poppy does nearly never use wall stun in lane anyway, only q to harass. She only uses wallstun if absolutely needed, most of the time to escape ganks or getting a double kill if towerdived. And dat Q hurts Riven.

Poppy takes near to no damage from Riven thanks to Cloth Armor, her passive and her W.
He is gonna kill you!!!

Hey, easy on the worthless there. Poppy can still out-trade Riven easily. Poppy with Sheen will wreck Riven in an all in. Remember that she is immune to Riven's execute.

The problem with that matchup is that an expert Riven can harass you without letting you to retaliate; she will hop to you, land a bunch of attacks while you're stunned/knocked back then run away with her shield. She can't go ham on you and win though, because if she decides to keep fighting after all her skills are blown you will demolish her.

Oh and trust me, EVERYONE stands next to walls. I watched #1 Poppy NA murder all those beautiful ELO players because they stood next to walls, or get doubles when they attempted to dive.

So basically, Riven's epic mobility makes it hard for you to harass her back. That's my opinion on this matter.

This. Make sure you position yourself behind her when she dashes to you. That makes it easier to land hits on her while she's retreating. You can even shove her towards your tower. Just remember: you out-trade her hard.

Oh and, it helps to let her use her Broken Wings first, then go in to harass her.

Okay maybe I was a little quick on the worthless remark, I'm doing everything I can to learn poppy just haven't had excess to a computer that can run league at a decent frame rate :(

and the changes to Phage and Tri Force don't really nerf her potential to use them other then the price increase.

Poppy being weak early is a myth anyways. Playing her passively right from the start is a big mistake because she has one of the strongest levels 1-2. You actually have to be REALLY aggressive and try to force the enemy out of lane asap.

After that, keep the pressure up, make sure you are ahead in CS, make the enemy fear you.

If you play passive, you will get forced into farming under your tower. There's nothing horribly wrong with it but you will have to rely on your jungler/some items to actually win the lane (or hope that the enemy derp dives you). Though, Poppy is kinda good at farming under the tower, or at least stopping the enemy from farming while the lane is in such a state.

Did you see Zekent playing vs old Olaf with Poppy? He was very aggressive; he started harassing Olaf with his Q right off the bat, and ultimately easily won the lane. If he didn't though, Olaf would become too tanky to handle.

Poppy is overpowered (FACT). She has an ult that can throw any teamfight and in lane she has a stun and ridiculous damage. The main question about tri-force poppy is whether it is better to build her ap or ad. I play Darius often, who is really the best poppy counter I own, and every time i'm against a poppy I end up destroying her early and not letting her get any farm but we always end up losing late game because poppy just ults and the teamfight is done. I think that one of the main reasons she isn't played that much is because her concept is different. Maybe her splash or her lore is kind of strange but it doesn't mean she isn't op.
