All good points which is why it is listed ahead of Sanguine Blade. Average total gold for TT can range from 7-9k. I have never seen or been in any game that has lasted to the 6th item. I think that Sanguine blade is good last item due to its cost. For a full 6 item build it'll be about 16-17k. If you ever get to this point in a game, its not what the 6th item is that makes the difference, but rather game play. If you get caught, you're dead for 40+ seconds. If you get played your whole team is dead for 40+ seconds.
Hydra costs 1100 gold more, kind of unfair to compare the two.
Yea Sanguine blade is extremely cost efficient.
I also added in the brutalizer section talking about ghostblade and black cleaver. I personally do not like upgrading it until a problem arises, such as " we cant get to their backline" or "they're too tanky". It costs roughly 1.4k and 1.6k to upgrade to ghostblade and cleaver respectively. I'd rather get a giants belt with that money.
Hydra's probably a better investment, takes too long to stack sanguine with garen's kit. If not hydra, then you should probably dump gold into a brutalizer upgrade.
I get what you're saying Voosha but even the situational and late game items should be backed by good reasoning. It may not be at the core of the build, but if there's not a good reason to build it then it shouldn't be in the guide. Both of the other offensive items seem like much better alternatives.
Also you might want to address the two brutalizer upgrades. They both seem pretty good for Garen and you will presumably be building one of them at some point. Maybe have a brief paragraph or two recommending ghostblade or cleaver in different scenarios, plus at what time in the game to build them.

Here is the thing; if you want to buy

I don't even have sanguine listed as a core item, I don't know why you keep focusing on this point. It's my third listed offensive item. If you don't like it don't get it's simple as that. These are guides not a holy bible of how to play Garen. Take what you like from my guides and improve your own gameplay. Besides games should end around the time you have sunfire and brutalizer. If not it should definitely end by the time you have randuin's.

But did you know
My mistake I meant to put up sanguine blade :P
But did you know
I find Lifesteal extremely useless on
Also.. you never mentioned about upgrading the
You make very valid points, but you have to understand that the infinity edge + atma's is like a million gold. Games usually take under 20 minutes which is why I've listed those specific items. I 100% agree with everything you said and that Infinity Edge and Atma's is in fact the superior build, but you have to remember this is for Twisted Treeline and not summoner's rift.
