Started watching Nagi no Asukara. Gone trough first episodes but seems really good. The animation and characters are super awesome.

Kill la Kill is great if you can take it for what it is instead of trying to critically review it. It's one of those shows where the deeper you try to look, the less enjoyable it becomes. There's a reason why reception is quite polarized: The fans absolutely love it, others hate it with a passion, and reviewers generally give it a mediocre score of 6-7.

They're not wrong by any means; the show has low production value and many parts felt rushed and inconsistent. Your viewing experience is not going to be hindered by this at all, however, as long as you don't go out of your way to think about it.

Personally, I immensely enjoyed the hype train and the ridiculous speculation after every week, and that's one of the perks of following an airing show: the discussion is godlike and made the ride a nonstop emotional rollercoaster.

Currently watching Psycho-Pass.

I'm at episode 6, so far so good. Pretty nice animation, the characters are okay, especially Tsunemori Akane, she's a pleasure to watch.

I'm a bit bothered by the plot. So far it feels like every episode doesn't depend on the other. Hope it changes soon.

watching gintama. it is definitely funny (sarutobi ayame is my favorite character) but i don't think i will make it through 200 episodes. probably will go to gurren lagann than come back to it from time to time.

psycho pass sounds like the movie minority report.

(Lost my long version of post while editing QQ)

Finished Log Horizon. SAO and LH are both great in my opinion, but I liked SAO's art better. I don't know who I'm quoting, but I read something like "SAO is for MMO lovers and LH is for anime lovers" and I think that sums it up nicely. SAO goes a bit more into sci-fi too, which I can appreciate. But LH's story is great too. I'll follow both series when their season 2s come out.

Late to the party as always, I just watched Kill la Kill episode 1 and it's amazing. I couldn't get through TTGL(shame on me) but this takes it to a whole new level. I like the art style too.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?
LH is for MMO lovers while SOA is for anime lovers?
Cus SOA was totally **** for me as an MMO lover... It just destroyed everything that had to do with MMO and replaced it with ''AWMAHGAWD I LOVE ASUNA SO MUCH LOLOL IMA WIN GAME CUS OF DAT''

Well, if you put it that way, SAO is for Asuna lovers :D

But I guess you're right. My computer lover side still thinks SAO is more sci-fi in the sense that backgrounds in the real world like the NerveGear and system errors like the "keypad blur workaround" and bodies being half-dead, though. But as you say the whole revival stuff is terrible indeed.

LH's story with the NPCs and things like the food make the idea of it being a virtual reality next to impossible in my opinion. Several images show the players sitting in front of a monitor like we do and being sucked into a virtual reality like that when you're sitting in front of a monitor looks pretty insane to me. And it got too spiritual for a sci-fi I think.

Though I can relate to you disliking SAO, I find calling the series a disease is a bit too much :P
