I think many of you ask yourself, how can somebody come on ideas for builds like I do. They seem to be so crazy, that nobody else has ever thought about it, here is my way to go. As for this, I just take you with me for a new crazy AP WW sustain build.
1. I read through the abilities of champions at the wiki and look around where I could exploit something. WW's abilities that scale with AP are only his Q and it applies spellvamp. So what I need to get? Everything that gives increased healing, spellvamp and AP.
2. I got some basic knowledge about how champions work. As for Warwick, he needs a good amount of defense items that work decently. This is calculated into build.
3. I go on http://www.teryd.net where I can build up my own build while also seeing the stats for it, this way I can guess how well it can work. This includes the synergy of the items with each other and with runes and masteries. Stats I want to get here:
40% CDR to spam Q as often as possible
More focus on resistances than health because Spellvamp scales better with resistances Spirit Visage as absolute core item
High spellvamp with Will of the Ancients and Hextech Gunblade, Gunblade also increases the power of ult healing. Frozen Heart because resistances > health and CDR. Rabadon's Deathcap to turn Q into a real monster.
Interesting 13/17/0 masteries to get Second Wind and get Spell Weaving and a bit more AP.
Runes standard AP Bruiser with mpen marks, armor seals, mr/lvl glyphs and AP Quints.
4. Next step is to think about, when to buy which item and in which order? First, WW benefints immensly from Doran's Ring, so I get 2 of them at the start. Then i need to increase my AP and CDR to make my Q way more devestating, so rushing Will of the Ancients next is a great idea. Then I get some defense items in order to make me tankier and get even more CDR, so i get Glacial Shroud first in order to have enough mana, then Kindlegem and then I finish those 2 items. Coming lategame, I can fire out the big damage items with Hextech Gunblade and Rabadon's Deathcap.
5. The last step is to test it and to find out which champ it beats and agains which champs it sucks. Or generally how well it fits into a comp or against enemy comps. Time to play :D

If Warwick has only one ability which scales with AP, why do you draw the conclusion that you should buy items which provide AP on him?

Yes, it is only one skill, a skill on a low cooldown with immense damage and immense healing. And for full AP WW, Deathfire Grasp scales with your ult and Lich Bane, so yeah.^^
[quote=NicknameMy]If you want AP WW, you get this:
[icon=deathfire grasp size=32][icon=sorcerer's shoes size=32][icon=zhonya's hourglass size=32][icon=lich bane size=32][icon=void staff size=32][icon=rabadon's deathcap size=32]
