Emi: Some great suggestions! I'll edit the text to go behind Soraka's arm for sure. As for the text style, yeah, I did try swirly fonts but none seemed to really match. But I do agree the block text doesn't really fit.
Amanda: I meant the original original. Surely there is a background to accompany the render? :P Also, thanks!!! I like everything about the sig, especially the text!! Will watch your tutorial soon.
I'm not sure which looks better?

if there is one with a background the original artist never posted it lol
Just watched your tutorial and I have a higher appreciation of the process you go through to make them. Looks so complicated. I gave it a go in Photoshop, using a slightly different process. I can't seem to get that "sheen"/metallic/reflective property you have going in your reflection though.

Edit, just rewatched the video, I missed the part where there are multiple gradients. I think it looks better now.

yea, I was kinda quiet and not very concise, so sorry about that. I'm not all that good at trying to explain things as I'm doing them...but it was easier than trying to mess around with making a picture style tutorial for something not very small.
No no, your tutorial was fine, I was watching and attempting at the same time, which is why I missed it. Also, I'm not familiar with GIMP, so there was that barrier for me :P You sorta flicked layer styles around at different points too (like from Normal to Screen or Overlay) and sometimes I caught that and sometimes I didn't. You were clear with your instructions though. Thanks for the tutorial!
yea, I tend to just make changes until things look the way I intend them to without thinking about it.

I immediately attempted Amanda's tutorial and loved the effect. For me though, it was a little hard to translate her instructions from GIMP to Photoshop. So I decided to document how I made the wallpaper in Photoshop, using her tutorial. Might help some Photoshop users ^^ (it's also interesting to see how different GIMP and Photoshop is - if you run the tutorials at the same time, you can see how the different processes work) TUTORIALCEPTION > Now we just need someone to make a tutorial of this tutorial of Amanda's tutorial, but in a different editing program :P

style is a throwback to some stuff I made ages ago

I apologize in advance for the bad quality and for my rambling
in case anyone wants to use this wallpaper
