Im sure everyone knows this by now, but my favorite champ is
Mordekaiser. Since he is my favorite champ, I feel somewhat obliged to say he is well designed, but several people will disagree with me due to three major factors:
1: He is the only champion in the game that does not have some sort of mobility or crowd control ability (I actually just found this out). It is very easy to just run away from him and kite him for days. This makes him extremely reliant on items to give him the mobility or crowd control he needs. If you dont build the right items on him, he'll be quite useless.
2: His ultimate. Dont get me wrong, his ultimate is REALLY good, but it has to be the most complex ult in the game. When cast, it steals a percentage of health from the target, half of which is stolen on cast, and the other half over the duration of the ult. If the target dies, Morde gains several stats off the new pet, and the pet recieves several stats off of Morde's modified stats he gets after the target dies. It is a very messy and complex ult, so much so that its a wonder it works at all.
3: He brings very little to a team. This somewhat ties in with the lack of mobility and crowd control. In a teamfight, you'll usually see him cast his ult onto a priority target, and thats it. The ult will push the target out of the teamfight, but they can come back just fine 10 seconds later.
Morde is an awesome duelist with simply AMAZING wave clear, and this is specifically the reason why I play him top. Top lane is usually a lane left completely alone for the majority of the game. This gives Morde a huge advantage over his opponent due to being one hell of a bully in lane. If you happen to take your opponents tower down, you can start roaming a bit, and try to take other towers.
In teamfights, you can be a pretty decent frontliner that can deal a noticeable amount of damage. You eat up the crowd control and damage from the enemy team, and your team walks right around you to decimate them.
This is why I feel that you have to think very strategically with Morde. You dont have the mobility to get out of a tough situation, and you cant chase ANYONE. You have to let your enemy come to you. If they dont, you take an objective. If they do, you turn a 5v5 into a 6v4, and then take an objective.
So.....yeah. All in all, I'd say hes quite balanced to be honest.

Thank you Toshabi for the advice!
