Nera's Climb #1

Hey guys!

This is hopefully a new series i will be starting up in my climb up the elo ladder.:D
I don't have all the match histories since i started to play ranked but i will at the very least give an overview of everything thats happened thus far.

When i first started ranked i made the mistake as many new comers to lvl 30 to start right away. I then got placed into bronze 1 where i was aiming for at least silver at that time. But being unable to climb higher as i was not able to *carry* my team and a few trolls dropped me all the way to bronze 4 in a short matter of time. Now with a little over 100 ranked games and a few normals since then i have improved my mechanics and have been steadily climbing my way back up usually winning 2-5 games in a row before losing one. Which is a major improvement over the 2-3 loss before a win coming in. I am now sitting comfortably at a bronze 2 slot with a little over 20 lp. I found that getting alot of practice with my few worst roles *adc and sup…

What defines new content?

I've been on this one for awhile with many people and so far the consensus seems to be even as far as opinions go. I think content is something that adds to the game so I.E. champions/characters, maps, h.u.d.s', announcers, and skins/vanity items. I don't however think that icons, banners, and loading screen boarders are content. I know those things can take some time and design behind them sometimes, but I don't see it as game changing or helpful to the game. Most would agree with me and there are those who see all the above as content. I know it sounds like I'm complaining about it...well I kind of am just due to I want to see more content as far as maps and characters go or even more game modes.

Over the past 3 season we've seen very little in maps come out and or modes come out. We've had 2 new modes added in 3 seasons of league come out. Along with 2 new maps, 3 if you count the rework of twisted treeline. We've have however had lots of game changing champions, but that's to happ…

Jungle blog: some words on Shyvana (and some other...

Hello world,

as a somewhat new jungle main (I played all-round for two years before maining jungle after I hit platinum) I have been trying to explore all kinds of champions/playstyles and trying to find stuff that would fit me well.

The first thing I had a look at was Meteos' playstyle. I noticed how he was more focussed on farming rather than ganking was because all the enemy teams would make sure to get a lot of ward coverage all around the map. We have all seen how ******ed his farm numbers could get.

Now this is competetive play, and this is far different from my standard low-diamond/high-platinum solo queue games. However, something that his standard in these games is to level 3 gank. After some time top mains started to realize this and started to play carefully around this time, or placed down early wards.

Now the link between these two is how it makes ganking early game harder. Keep in mind that ganking is in fact an investment, and a gamble. You invest time you'd normall…

Random Vs Team

After playing countless games together as a team, and knowing what should go down and when, when ever I get paired with complete randoms for 5v5. Nothing ever goes right. I watch as the adc and support get ran over like no tomorrow. The Jungle only grab blue then do nothing but gank my lane when I dont need it. Which made my enemy player run off and get more health with out securing the kill. The top lane do fairly decent. But what really got to me was the jungle. Never have I ever, nor do I hope to see that kind of jungling. There was no need for countless ganks mid when bot coulda used them wayy more. With a team, everything is coordinated to a point. You can time things down to the exact second you need to get the chain moving. Unfortauntly, when matched up against players random 5v5 it is much harder if the team is not communicating dispite your best efforts. In fire School we are taught two major rules. Never freelance, essentially go everywhere with atleast one person for backup,…

Gaming Addiction

Disclaimer: Any people, persons, or parties mentioned in this blog post are fictional.

With League of Legends at the height of it's popularity, there is a lot of talk of gaming in mainstream media. "What does it do to people?", "Who is gaming?", and, "Is this a good thing?"

While they do their due diligence as writers and content producers to tell the whole story (gamers aren't getting quite as bad of a rap as they used to), there is still a lot of negative talk about what gaming can do to a person. You see, like drugs and alcohol, gaming is a potential addiction for some people.

In response to "Is this a good thing?": I would have to say that it can be seen a number of ways at different times. Anything in excess can be bad for you, and while time wasters are certainly not going to cost you anything in the short term, they could change your habits, which will directly influence the decisions you make in your everyday life. Before we get to the conclusion of "why gaming is bad fo…
