There aren't alot of things I can put here for most Champions, but here is one that can be the death of Mordekaiser, Yorick (Who I main) Can stunt Mord's Q due to his ghouls, and can save his ult for when Mord Ults to turn the tide, So It really depends on how good the Yorick is, if he knows what hes doing, play it safely, if hes an idiot... Well Show him the Mace.
Vladimir is one of those Picks that is just... Super annoying, He pokes, he heals, and he runs, Thats all he does, combined with how much health he gets Well he can become a pain to destroy... Morellos is a definite in this match up and highly suggested to build it early.
I just wanted to add this as I feel that alot of Mord Players get scared by ranged Champions. "Oh he outranges me, Gotta play safe" Gnar, is not a problem for Mord, hes only dangerous when ahead, and that's pretty hard to do, because if you wait for him to throw his boomerang, That's when you pull him close and destroy him, Once you get a kill or two, he cant do much, So go ahead and control the lane.
Garen is a skill match-up, you want to keep him low by poking him with your Q and pull him off you with your E, If he takes ignite be careful of his all in! and if you do want to fight him, Ult him as he tries to engage you, This will allow you to fight him effectively.
This is the champion I ban most with this build, She can duel you easily, and block your poke easily, Play passive and focus on farming, Only fight her when your jungler is near, or your both at 6, When fighting her, ult her as soon as she does and head to the edge of the Circle, this will block her ability to hit one-two vitals.
Tryndamere is a skill match up in every sense of the word, Try to Save your ult for when hes low on health, this usually will pull out his Ult early, And he will have to either try and attack you, or run away, Be careful of his level 2 engage if he has ignite!
A Good skill match-up, a Good Darius can destroy Mordekaiser especially if your still new to him, But this build does help to counter him slightly, the Increased Attack speed and CDR can allow you to survive his damage, Just make sure to save your E for his Q so that he doesn't get to heal!
Mundo is incredibly annoying, and late game, he can definitely beat out Mordekaiser with his absurd healing, So make sure to shut him down in the early game, make his life a living hell for him.
Vayne is everything you don't want to face in a top lane, Ranged, Hard to Hit, has a Dash, Can knock you away And true damage! She is incredibly hard to fight, Play passive, finish Protobelt first and wait for ganks.
Almost as bad as Vayne, I do find that she is slightly easier as she doesn't have Vayne's specific dash, try to save your E for when you know she will knock you back then smack her afterwards, if timed well you can negate her poke, Otherwise wait for ganks and play passively.
A Skill matchup in every form, A Good Kayle is nearly impossible to catch out, try to poke her down with Q, and if she engages, Use your E to pull her close, She will usually only engage with a Gank so be careful!
Camille is another good skill matchup, Try to engage her, Don't let her engage you, If she gets her stun off she can easily burst you down for a chunk of health then escape while barely taking any damage, So try to fight her on your own terms and youll be fine.
Gangplank can be very dangerous, but I rarely find him to be, While he can cleanse your ult with his orange, He isn't impossible to kill, If he comes up to poke, Hit him with your E, Its quite hard for him to cleanse and will allow you to hit him back harder.
Synergies huh, Mord doesn't have a lot of them due to his Ult, But I would say that J4 works pretty well, Its the one time where you wont need to ult as J4 can trap them for you, Pull them close and smash them over the wall when He engages.
Champion Build Guide
Hello and thank you for reading my First Guide!
I'm Speedfire2, a Mordekaiser enthusiast (But not one-trick) With currently 88 thousand Mastery Points (Its not much, I know) I played Mordekaiser quite a bit with him before the rework, but post-rework, I've been using him to climb, and now you can to!
This guide is meant to explain how this build works, Why you should use it, and why its worth your time to at least try it.
- Strong Early, Mid and Late Game
- Easy to learn but High Skill Cap
- Easy to hit skillshots once used to him
- Low Mobility
- If new, Skillshots can be hard to hit.
|The first core item of this built, Nashor's tooth is a great pick for Mordekaiser, It gives him 20% CDR, Attack Speed and AP, three stats he utilises very well, This is the item I often times finish first, and it has lead me to many wins.|
|Another great core item for Mordekaiser, Protobelt gives Mordekaiser another 10% CDR, as well as AP and health, if he has Nashor's Tooth as well, then he has hit 30% CDR on just two items, allowing him to use his Q Obliterate quite often, and keep up both his passive and damage, as well as poke.|
|This one of the first Non-Core Items, but I pick it up almost every game, the slow combined with the health and AP allow Mordekaiser to chase and kill his enemies|
|This is one of those items which I only pick up on rare occasions, usually when facing a incredibly heavy tank team, But that is quite rare, While the burn is nice and the starts synergise well, Mordekaiser already has the ability to shred people without, SO in the end it falls off and becomes a bundle of stats, hency why I rarely take it|
|Both boots are good for separate situations, I usually take Merc Treads when dealing with a heavy cc team, Otherwise I take Ninja Tabi, Only time I wont is if they are somehow a full AP team with little to no CC|
|Ah, The Support items, Well heres the first one, Dead Man's Plate is one of the best choices for Mordekaiser, The passive momentum build up allows for him to catch up to the trickier enemies and smash in their heads!|
|Spirit Visage is another one of those support items, And while it has good stats, the most important part of it is the ability to increase heals by 30%, thats huge! And its on a tank item, making it very good for our old boy Mordekaiser|
|The item that all mage loves, Rabadon's Deathcap is an item that works best when you have a lot of AP, and I do mean, a lot, because of this it tends to fall flat for Mordekaiser Since this build is more focused on attacking often instead of one super strong attack. But this doesn't mean its useless! If you ever face a team that has little to no mag resistance, then this item is a holy grace that will melt them like a hot mace through butter.|
|Morellonomicon is the anti heal item in this build, Its meant to be taken when dealing with a very sustain heavy team, whether this is through lifesteal, Healing, or champions with a lot of base sustain, Its one of those items you build early but you only build it when needed.|
|This has to be my least taken item from the entire build, and yet, I can't help but be scared of this item, It works best when you are the pillar of the team, the one carrying the game, Build this item to allow you to reenter the fight as soon as possible without backing, It can also replace Spirit Visage against an all AD Team!|
- Mordekaiser's E can be used to push enemies from him when in a pinch, place the cursor slightly in front of Mordekaiser towards the path your walking to get away, and then Press E, the hand will appear and pull all enemies behind Mordekaiser Further away!
- Mordekaiser's R grants a massive slow to the enemy chasing you when you use it, you can use this to slow down an enemy to hit them with your E (Make sure to E first then ult!) Or to back them off if they planned on using an AA Reset.
- You can Teleport while in your Death Realm!, Yes this does work, if you feel unsafe and know that you will be attacked one your out, start teleporting to a tower while in your death realm, This will break the realm once the teleport finishes, placing you in a safe place (hopefully)
