One of the champions I see a lot of Lux players struggle playing against is Soraka, her silence can stop your entire damage (and shield!) and her heals can be life-saving for the enemy. However, if you're able to keep your distance and poke from afar you shouldn't be having much of an issue with her.
Nautilus
Honestly, Naut is probably one of the most annoying supports to lane against right now. Your q won't stop his q, either, so it makes it more difficult to avoid engages. Along with his large amount of cc and tankiness, he's a champion I avoid as much as possible when playing Lux.
Alistar
Alistar is (at least for me) one of the most difficult matchups for Lux. His tankiness and cc make it difficult to poke effectively without fear of being yote into the enemy tower. This is definitely a lane I recommend playing passively against.
Bard
With Bard, you should really just try to avoid his stun. His thicc heals can make your poking feel more like a slight nudge, but as long as you try to avoid his q stun, you shouldn't be having much of an issue. He also will likely be roaming to collect chimes quite often, so he won't always be in lane.
Blitzcrank
I tend to avoid Blitz as much as I can, since his grab and silence really suck to play against. Lux's lack of mobility makes it difficult to avoid engages.
Brand
Generally as long as you avoid Brand's w+q combo, you should be fine. However, his passive damage can be very annoying to deal with. Just try to avoid his spells and you should be fine!
Braum
I dont see Braum as a big issue, his q is fairly easy to dodge but his shield can be annoying as it blocks your q and e. As long as you're able to wait for that ability to be down, it shouldn't be an issue!
Janna
Normally laning against a Janna will be pretty easy. Your ability range is longer than hers and you do more damage, however her shield can be a small setback when trying to combo on someone.
Lulu
Lulu is mainly going to be a skill match-up. Her ult and her w (polymorph) can be very annoying to deal with, as well as her e+q combo. Most of time you should be fine as long as you keep your distance.
Lux
Skill match-up, enough said lol
Morgana
Morgana pretty much counters Lux. Her spell shield especially is super annoying, and her root lasts a lot longer than yours. However, you do have the advantage of your q going through one extra target so it's a good idea to stay behind minions. Just keep your distance and you won't need to worry about her ult much
Nami
Generally Nami won't be a super hard match-up. Her heals can make it more difficult to burst someone with Lux's combo, though. She also has a lot of cc (ult, q, e slow) which is gonna suck if you get too close. Keep your distance and you should be fine
Pyke
Lux is an immobile squishy squish. Not exactly the best thing to play into a Pyke, although if you avoid his q and predict his e you won't have as hard of a time- just be sure to have vision in the brush around you so you're not as susceptible to an invis Pyke q combo
Rakan
Rakan has a lot of engage potential with his w and ult, as well as high mobility. Save your q for after he uses w if possible, and try to keep your distance from both him AND the enemy adc so you're able to avoid an e-w combo!
Senna
Senna has a lot of range, poke, and a global ult. It's a very good idea to avoid her w as much as you can, and try to avoid being on direct opposite sides of the wave (to avoid her q poke).
Sona
Sona is generally a very easy lane. You out-damage her and her heals aren't that big; her ult can be annoying but that's the only sort of engage/cc she has.
Tahm Kench
Tahm isn't going to be much of a problem if you're able to avoid being eaten. If your adc gets eaten, try to root him and allow your adc to escape if possible.
Taric
Taric's stun range is pretty short, and his ultimate doesn't last very long. He isn't going to be a big problem unless you're getting too close to him.
Thresh
He has a ton of cc, and great engage potential. Thresh is also very tanky, although his passive doesn't give him mr with stacks so you should be able to do a decent amount of damage to him. Just avoid his q!
Yuumi
Lux is a pretty good pick into Yuumi, now that when she's immobilized her w goes on a 5 second cooldown. It's a great idea to save your q when laning against a Yuumi for when she tries to use her passive, since they tend to over-extend a lot to get it. She's also very squishy and as easy kill if you're able to land q.
Zyra
Zyra's root goes through minions and all enemies, and has a pretty long range. Combined with her plant's damage and ult knock-up, she can be an issue to play against. Try to avoid her e and ult combo!
Ashe
Ashe has a great amount of cc for an adc, and her slows make it sooo much easier to get a full combo off.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn's high range makes her a great adc to play with as Lux. As well as her traps if she's able to place her traps under an enemy you rooted in time.
Aphelios
I like playing with Aphelios in lane, because of his potential for long range cc and damage. However, you won't always be able to tell which weapon he'll be getting.
Draven
Draven has biiig damage on his basic attacks, so just landing one q can result in a kill. However, Draven also tends to be really good with a support such as Yuumi or Nami for the good heals.
Ezreal
Ezreal and Lux are a super poke lane. With high range and damage, it can be pretty frustrating for your enemies.
Jinx
Jinx and Lux are a great combo for bot lane; Jinx has her traps she can put under a rooted target as well as her global ultimate which is good for if you're able to hit a long range combo. Her w slow is also helpful for landing your abilities.
Kai'Sa
Kai'Sa is good with Lux, both have long range abilities and Kai'Sa can ult off of you hitting your q so it's a great gap-closer if an enemy is far from her.
Kalista
I love playing with a Kalista, as she has a great amount of burst (goes well with Lux's burst too) with her e. Her ult can be awesome for helping you out of sticky situations.
Lucian
Lucian has mobility and a decently long ability range, but most Lucian players won't just sit there when ulting even if you hit a q. However, a good Lux root can be a good form of engage and Lucian will be able to dash over.
Miss Fortune
Miss Fortune's ult along with your q+e+r combo can be super strong. Her poke as well as Lux's poke are very good together too
Sivir
Sivir doesn't always tend to be the best with Lux, but she is a good pick AGAINST Lux. Her q has a decently long range but her waveclear with w makes Lux more susceptible to an engage ability from an enemy. It's better to be safer behind minions as Lux.
Tristana
Tristana can be good to lane with, as she's able to engage off a good Lux q. However, her sudden mobility can make it harder to shield her.
Twitch
Both Lux and Twitch have high range ultimates, and hitting a good q can result in a kill if Twitch follows up.
Varus
Varus is super strong with Lux, mainly because of their high range abilities and Varus has a large root ultimate. If one of you hits a root, it's almost always a good time to use the other root. Varus also has a very long range skill shot, and if you hit a q from afar he can follow up with more poke.
Vayne
Vayne has a good amount of engage potential with Lux, since she has a stun and Lux has a root. However, it can be very annoying when a Vayne pushes away an enemy from your combo. I've had it happen too many times. If you and the Vayne have good synergy, though, it has potential to be a good lane.
Xayah
Xayah and Lux are a good combo due to their roots. Saving q for when Xayah lands a good root is a good idea, since you'll be able to burst them and they can't do anything about it.
