If he can Q+W combo you faster than you can mash your W, you're sort fucked. You just want to play back and be ready to peel your carry during lane or team fights.
Leona
Unplayable lane, take guardian and wait for level 6 while trying to control river/bush vision. Kick her back if she gets too close before she uses anything if possible.
Thresh
Same boat as leona, he just has way more pressure pre-6. Play for vision and ganks, but be careful of kicking too close or you will get flayed and will have to walk through his box to get out.
Lulu
Polymorph... need i say more? Just shield off cd to protect you and your carry from poke in lane. During team fights watch for her W before you jump in to kick or try to peel someone away.
Blitzcrank
If he hooks you just W back to you wave. Careful of his R bc it does break shields.
Bard
Poke is annoying but he will roam most of the game if he is a good bard, thats when you strike.
Braum
Just becomes a tank slap fest, he gives resistances, you give shields, no one dies sorta deal. Just be careful depending on his partnered ADC. Also incredibly hard to get onto late so just be patient.
Galio
W taunt will catch you if youre not paying attention most of the time. You can kick him out of his ult but you will probably have to find him first. He gets tankier than you fast so just be smart about how you engage/disengage from him early to mid game.
Janna
Tornado will stop your Q and W so be careful. Also her R can knock you away from a solid kick so either try to bait it or just take the lost R for her R as a trade. Poke is nasty though so stay back/shielded.
Karma
Pokes and shields way better than you do just about all game if you go even/fall behind in lane. Just roam/control the vision at that point.
Morgana
Black shield will be the bane of your existence. If youre worried about her Q just play inside the minions. This is a guardian match up for sure, and control vision again and wait for ganks.
Nami
Poke is annoying, and she can just speed away. She wont be much of a threat besides her R in a fight so try and dive her in the back with a ward hop+kick. If that fails its probably because she solo ulted you off so your team can freely enage.
Nautilus
Tanky and can cancel your Q or W or R. Dont fight at any point in lane, just ward hop away and tease him. Wait for ganks and make him rage hook and blow CD's.
Pyke
If you just ward hop out of his Q or E you're fine. He will roam or just play in bushes. Get some early control wards and play around with his mental of not hitting a hook.
Rakan
He is just the same champion but has more AP ratios. Careful his W+R combo at 6 or during a fight but besides that its nice and even.
Rell
Hard to get onto or away from if she dives into your team or is peeling her team harder. A QSS might be necessary to let you get back to shielding everyone.
Senna
Pokes super hard, but depending on her build you should just be able to jump her and kick her into your team. Need lots of vision v.s. her so you can find her in fights late because of her incredible range.
Seraphine
Poke queen but even because she cant do much to you after poke. Just shield it all and aim for her adc to make her blow everything. Use the Q into ward hop trick to make her waste ult, then go back in.
Sett
Beefcake big boy, he will E you if you get too close then dunk you post level 6. Just try not to bawl too much. Vision is nice bc he wants ganks early for a lead.
Sona
So squishy, even you building AP shields can just blow her up. Careful of her R when going in, but you can always just QSS it or zhonya's it.
Soraka
Her E is really annoying when trying to get a kick off so be fast with your insec's. Dodge Q and play around vision because you'll be pushed up probably.
Swain
Scary post level 3 so just dodge out of his E. If your ADC gets caught in it leave them because its not worth giving him early souls pre 6 fights. Kick him away if he starts ulting and be ready to ward hop out of his E range.
Tahm Kench
He wont do much. Just dont get too close and save wards is he tries to eat you. Play heavy for vision after he gets 6 assuming he took his ult, its short but can impact a lot if he's smart.
Taric
His E is annoying and so is his R, just dont give him anything to stack his passive/Q off of and you'll be fine.
Yuumi
Her poke is annoying and her R is a bit tricky to play around post 6 because its so wide. Just wait for ganks and let them push you in. Should be pretty free lane since it'll be a 2v1.
Zilean
Post 6 he's a bit of a sitting duck for ganks. you will be pushed in really hard because of his Q poke. Just play around his R and go for him after he uses it on someone else and vice versa if he uses it on himself.
Zyra
Her poke is too abusive so dont even try to walk up. Just perma shield and sit back with your adc. Expect to die once or twice to something stupid like a long range spitter hitting you or a tricky gank. Ward up the bushes and only destroy the really out there plants after you see her use Q/E.
Ezreal
Your W and his E make for a slippery duo. Him having lots of mobility allows you to focus on peeling for your other carries more like a mage in the mid lane.
Ashe
Her poke lets you play up a bit more to pressure the enemy support/adc. Play with her E for vision and dont get cocky at level 6, youre still full AP.
Caitlyn
Her poke is nice but her lack of mobility really takes a toll on your playstyle. Youll have to focus way more on how you peel and when to pick. Shielding off CD for ardent buffs is probably just the best play style with her.
Draven
Mobility from W speed is fine but he wants to play way more aggressive early than you can actually play pre 6.
Aphelios
Just not a great ADC right now. Play back and scale. Vision is nice and be warry of ganks.
Jhin
Solid range and poke. Just be careful of his zero mobility unless he has 4th shot. Ardent buff is crazy strong on him so just wait for late and items.
Jinx
Strong ADC right now, great disengage. Play for peel and ardent buffs. Vision is critical the farther up you move so always have control wards on deck.
Kai'Sa
Strong mobility and disengage to compliment your W and Q. Play for mid game kills and roaming when you have a frozen wave. Wards are important but not crucial early.
Kalista
Kalista R + Lee sin R is a nasrty combo and will let you free dive in and out of fights early. Shes strong at dueling alone if you want to go ward up.
Kog'Maw
Low mobility, and your peel just isnt enough because he needs a real enabler like Lulu or Soraka. You can ardent buff him lots with your shield but even then you'll probably be behind from laning phase. Just dont pick lee sin for this or perma roam if it gets locked in after you.
Miss Fortune
Strong ADC once scaled, but be careful of pushing up too far. She has okay mobility with her W passive but she cant run that fast if shes being chased during a gank. Play back and ward up.
Samira
Mobility is high but she just isnt a good adc right now. Play for super late or to get your other lanes ahead while roaming.
Senna
Super strong fighting and disengage. She can survive late on her own with her huge range. She may ask you to farm which is fine but just go guardian runes, the money is nice on you since it will let you spike towards your mythic faster.
Sivir
Super mobile but weak early unless youre getting perma ganked. Just play for late again and work on vision around the bot half of the map until lane is over. Her R will help you get in and around teamfights.
Swain
Swain is a strong APC right now, but wants to scale for late game. Abuse his early poke and help keep him safe while collecting souls.
Tristana
Her mobility and ability to play aggressive or defensive perfectly compliments your playstyle. Help her shove and pressure the enemy bot lane (dependent on the enemy support).
Twitch
Not strong early or mid game (AD or AP dependent) so just play in bushes and wait for ganks. You're always gonna be at risk for a gank but his ability to sneak away lets you get cheeky ward hops in or out of a brawl.
Varus
Very strong ADC right now with fantastic poke/teamfight ability. Ardent/Staff buff is going to really benefit him early or late game. Just be careful of his inability to move fast as he charges Q. This is probably a shurelya's game if anything.
Vayne
Mobile and strong post 6, but if you get behind before that youre screwed until she can get items. Play for ardent buff on her specifically and hang out in the back line with her.
Xayah
She's strong but wants people to walk into her feathers, which your pressure will likely drive them out and away from the 3 feather root from Xayah. Just protect her until 6 and be mindful of ganks.
Yasuo
Its a funny lane, but really only spikes at level 6. Play for a double kick to knock someone up and just go to pound town when Yasuo presses R. You'll at the least both be slippery, but susceptible to hard cc supports like Leona, Alistar, or Sett.

Hey! My name is bembo and im a gold support player :3
My goal here is to make unreasonable guides that sorta make sense and have super low chances of actually working but sometimes I make actual guides that do work for real champion picks in the support role!
Today I have decided to grace you all with some "Shield Lovin' Lee Sin"!
If you have any questions or concerns about the build or written guide, or maybe even some suggestions on how to improve the build, just let me know in the discussion section! (or let me know if you want an in depth guide on another funny support build hehe...)
Lee Sin also has the ability to build Locket of the Iron Solari if you know youre going to get dogpiled in teamights later. It provides him with more resistances, shields, and survivability to eat damage for your carries while still applying Ardent Censer and Staff of Flowing Water buffs.
Moving onto situational items, things like Zhonya's Hourglass and Chemtech Putrifier are great options to counter hard crowd control, to other healer/ardent support centric teams. An item that I highly recommend investing in is Stirring Wardstone which lets you control the vision available on the map way more than usual, as well as when its fully bought and turned into a Vigilant Wardstone you gain 40 extra haste (to cast your W even more) and some movement speed, as well as another stealth ward and control ward down on the map. Its a long term investment but because youre a support and obviously put your wards down, it should be no problem to upgrade. Buying/investing in a Quicksilver Sash or a Silvermere Dawn is very useful if youre into champions like Rell, Alistar, Thresh, Nautilus, or something like a Nocturne.
If you're really looking to beef up in lane, I recommend using the "Tank King" build and messing around with that! It follows the same sort of principles of all the other item paths except trying to maximize the shield effectiveness through Staff of Flowing Water or Ardent Censer.
If you feel like you're going to be pressured more by the enemy jungler, you can take the secondary Summon Aery rune page with Zombie Ward and Ingenious Hunter. As Lee Sin you'll naturally be providing lots of vision when you drop wards to Safeguard to for an insec or maybe roaming into the enemy jungle, but this means being able to deny enemy vision and replace their wards with yours is also very important.
Lee Sin's playstyle as a support really varies depending on the enemy support/adc, which will then guide you to your build and how active you can/should be on the map during or after laning phase.*
*Refer to champion threats & synergies above for how to play with and vs certain champions.
Your playstyle is also dependent on your rune page, whether you took Summon Aery and want to poke and provide more constant shielding vs taking Guardian and only providing a single big shield between your other W shields. The later the game goes the stronger you will get if you took one of the rune pages with Gathering Storm.
Your early play will revolve around mostly around both junglers. You'll likely be shoved in early so either play safe and spam W, or spam ping for your jungler to come gank (their) level 3. If you're forced too hard under your tower, you can roam up the river or you could hover your jungler for invades into the enemy blue side OR red side if you're ADC can play safe enough in lane vs the enemy team.
Mid to late game your entire mind and body should be devoted to hard peeling your carries with Safeguard, but also being aware of when you could get in and get a cheeky Dragon's Rage insec onto the enemy carry. Not much else will come of your champ at this point besides being a shield bot. Make sure to keep up with your vision and always back when you hit 1 to 2 wards left on your Pauldrons of Whiterock and 1 control ward left on your Vigilant Wardstone.
