YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT OLAF GETS 2X STRONGER ON LOW HP COMPARED TO MAX HP SO PLAY AROUND THAT ENEMIES MOST LIKELY DONT REALISE THIS FACT. ALWAYS FIGHT ON 100% FOCUS AND TRYHARD UNTIL YOU DIE. OLAF CAN DO MIRACLES IF YOU PLAY HIM IMMACULATELY. ALWAYS FIGHT UNTIL GREY SCREEN.


Q: UNDERTOW - EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. HOLD IT UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE YOU WILL HIT IT ON THE ENEMY. THROW IT ON COOLDOWN IN FIGHTS. ALWAYS KITE TOWARDS DROPPED AXE. THROW IT AS FAR AS YOU NEED - NOT 1 KILOMETER BEHIND THE ENEMY. MISSING Q CAN LOSE YOU THE WHOLE FIGHT. IF YOU CANNOT ALL IN JUST POKE THE ENEMIES FRONTLINE WITH IT - REMEMBER IT SLOWS AND SHREDS 20% ARMOR SO YOUR TEAM CAN FOLLOW UP AND DEAL INCREASED DAMAGE. W: TOUGH IT OUT - NEVER USE IT AT THE START OF THE FIGHT UNLESS YOUR TEAM CAUGHT SOMEONE AND YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM VERY QUICKLY. NORMALLY HOLD IT FOR AS LOW HP AS YOU ARE ALLOWED TO (SHIELD REACHES MAX VALUE AT 30% HP). REMEMBER IT IS AN AUTO ATTACK RESET - USE IT FOR CLEARING AND FASTER BURST AND FASTER E COOLDOWN RESET. COOL TRICK: WHEN YOU HAVE DEATHS DANCE AND CANT RECALL CAUSE OF BLEED DAMAGE, USE W TO GET A SMALL SHIELD TO BE ABLE TO START RECALLING QUICKER. LEARN TO CANCEL AUTOS WITH IT. IMPORTANT FOR BURSTING.


E: RECKLESS SWING - YOUR MAIN DAMAGE ABILITY IN LATE GAME. USE ON COOLDOWN. AUTOATTACKS DECREASE ITS COOLDOWN BY 1 SECOND. ESPECIALLY FOCUS ON USING IT IN FIGHTS WITH TANKY ENEMIES. ON 2 ITEMS YOU CAN SOLO BARON WITH 400 TRUE DAMAGE EVERY 3 SECONDS. ALWAYS USE E FIRST AFTER GETTING NEAR TO ENEMIES CAUSE LONGER RANGE THAN AUTOATTACK + YOU DONT WASTE COOLDOWN REDUCE FROM AUTOATTACKS. COOL TIP: USE E + SMITE AT THE SAME TIME FOR 1500 DMG SMITE. ULT: RAGNAROK - BE EXTREMELY PATIENT WITH IT. ONLY USE WHEN YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HOLD IT FOR THE ENTIRE FIGHT. DO NOT USE IT IF ENEMIES DIDNT USE DASHES YET. IT IS IN A LOT OF CASES BETTER NOT TO USE ULT AND NOT KILL - JUST MAKE ENEMIES RETREAT. DO NOT FIGHT WHEN R IS ON COOLDOWN. OLAF IS TERRIBLE WITHOUT ULT. YOUR AUTOATTACKS AND E INCREASE THE DURATION FOR 2.5 SECONDS. DO NOT TARGET ENEMIES WITH ZHONYA ON ULT (ZHONYA LASTS EXACTLY AS LONG AS U CAN HOLD ULT LONGER - 2.5 SECONDS). DO NOT RUN AWAY ON ULT - DONT GET CAUGHT AND BE FORCED TO USE IT STUPIDLY. ALWAYS HAVE ULT FOR OBJECTIVE FIGHTS - DO NOT START RANDOM DRAGON WITHOUT R (UNLESS YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN FLIP). CONQUEROR - PERFECT FOR OLAF KIT - INCREASES E DMG BY A LOT AND HEALS A LOT THROUGHOUT THE GAME. GIVES BOTH BURST AND SUSTAIN. EASY TO STACK CAUSE OF OLAF LOW COOLDOWN SPELLS AND HIGH ATTACK SPEED. MOST DMG OUT OF OTHER RUNES AND FITS OLAF BUILD BEST (OLAF HAS VERY GOOD AD SCALINGS ON SPELLS).

LETHAL TEMPO - AFTER TESTING IT IS JUST OUTPERFORMED BY CONQUEROR ON THE BRUSIER BUILD. FAST ATTACK SPEED ON OLAF FEELS NICE BUT CONQUEROR JUST BEATS IT IN WAY MORE SITUATIONS. YOU CAN GO LETHAL TEMPO ON TOPLANE - IT IS A BETTER 1V1 RUNE.

TRIUMPH - OBVIOUS CHOICE. REMEMBER YOU HAVE IT IN FIGHTS SINCE ITS PRETTY MUCH MINI DEATHS DANCE.

LEGEND: ALACRITY - BONUS ATTACK SPEED FOR FASTER E AND MORE HEALING. ALSO OVER THE COURSE OF GAME SAVES A LOT OF TIME WHILE CLEARING - IT OUTPERFORMS LEGEND: BLOODLINE AND OFC LEGEND: TENACITY IS WORTHLESS FOR OLAF.

LAST STAND - GREATLY INCREASES 1V9 POTENTIAL AT LOW HP. CONSISTENTLY DEALS 500-2000 BONUS DMG EVERY GAME. COMBOS WITH GOREDRINKER AND OLAF KIT.




MAGICAL FOOTWARE: BESIDE FREE BOOTS AND NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT BUYING THEM IN EARLY, THE BONUS 10 MOVEMENT SPEED IS BIG FOR OLAF.

YOU CAN SWAP HEALTH MINI RUNE FOR MAGIC RESIST AGAINST HEAVY AP - NEVER TAKE ARMOR RUNE EVEN IF ENEMY IS FULL AD SINCE YOU WILL BUILD ARMOR SECOND/THIRD ITEM (STEELPLATED CAPS + DEATHS DANCE). HEALTH RUNE SCALES BEST AND IS WORTH MOST GOLD IN STATS IT GIVES.

1. (1ST ITEM) GOREDRINKER/DIVINE SUNDERER/STRIDEBREAKER/SHIELDBOW/TRINITY
STRIDEBREAKER, TRINITY AND SHIELDBOW ARE WAY BETTER TOPLANE/MIDLANE THAN JUNGLE. YOU NEED TO WIN FIGHTS OF MULTIPLE PEOPLE FROM THE BEGINING AND THESE ITEMS ARE EXCEEDING IN 1V1S AND LANING. THATS WHY OLAF IS LEFT WITH GOREDRINKER AND DIVINE SUNDERER.

2. (1ST ITEM) GOREDRINKER OR DIVINE SUNDERER
GOREDRINKER HAS BETTER STATS THAN DIVINE SUNDERER. IT FEELS BETTER TO USE IT, IT CAN SURPRISE ENEMIES, ITS MYTHIC PASSIVE IS UNCOMPARABLY BETTER THAN DIVINE SUDNERER (7 ABILITY HASTE PER ITEM IS HUGE, %ARMOR SHRED IS MEH ON SUNDERER). DIVINE SUNDERER PASSIVE HEALS MORE AND DEALS MORE DAMAGE IN GAMES, BUT GOREDRINKER DOESNT COUNT HEALING FROM THE OMNIVAMP IT GIVES. DIVINE SUNDERER ONLY OUTPERFORMS GOREDRINKER IN GAMES AGAINST MULTIPLE TANKS: FOR EXAMPLE ZAC TOP SEJUANI JUNGLE SYLAS MID LEONA SUPPORT AND W.E ADC. BUILD GOREDRINKER IN 95% OF GAMES.

ON THE BRUISER BUILD OLAF WANTS TO TAKE IN AS MUCH DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE, SO ABILITY HASTE BOOTS ARE NOT WORTH WHEN PLATED STEELCAPS ARE AN OPTION (OLAF EEELS A LOT MORE SQUISHY WITH IOIANS WHEN COMPARED TO STEELPLATED CAPS. AND BECAUSE YOU BUILD HASTE ON EVERY ITEM IOIANS HASTE VALUE GETS REDUCED WITH EACH ITEM YOU BUY).

4. (3RD ITEM) DEATHS DANCE
ITEM SEEMINGLY CREATED DIRECTLY FOR OLAF TO USE. THIS IS THE ITEM WHICH LETS OLAF 1V5 IN TEAMFIGHTS. BEST TO BUY IT RIGHT AFTER BOOTS. IT IS OLAF'S BIGGEST POWERSPIKE. BUY IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND FORCE FIGHTS.

5. (4TH/5TH ITEM) BLACK CLEAVER/SPEAR OF SHOJIN
BLACK CLEAVER AND SPEAR OF SHOJIN ARE QUITE SIMILAR TO EACHOTHER. BLACK CLEAVER JUST FEELS STRONGER THAN SHOJIN SO I USUALLY BUILD IT FIRST. YOU CAN BUILD EITHER OF THEM 4TH ITEM DEPENDS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ENEMY CHAMPS (BLACK CLEAVER INTO SHOJIN INTO TANKS/BRUISERS, SHOJIN INTO BLACK CLEAVER AGAINST POKE/BURST LIKE SYNDRA/EZREAL - SHOJIN FOR FASTER W TO BLOCK BURST DAMAGE + FASTER Q FOR POKE IF YOU CANT WALK UP).

6. (6TH ITEM) STERAKS GAGE/WITS END/CHEMTECH CHAINSWORD/TITANIC HYDRA/TANK ITEMS

NOTE: SINCE OLAF WANTS TO BUILD ARMOR BOOTS AND DEATHS DANCE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, HE LACKS MAGIC RESIST FOR A GOOD PORTION OF THE GAME. A GOOD BUY, WHICH I ALSO RECCOMEND ON OTHER CHAMPIONS, IS BUYING A SINGLE NULL-MAGIC MANTLE SOMEWHERE EARLY IN THE GAME (USUALLY BEFORE DEATHS DANCE BUT AFTER GOREDRINKER SO YOU DO NOT DELAY YOUR GOREDRINKER SPIKE). SINCE YOU HAVE LOW MR IT GIVES QUITE A LOT %RESISTS AGAINST AP.
7. HOW TO MANAGE MICRO ON OLAF
1. PICKING UP OLAF
OLAF ON BASE LEVEL IS NOT A HARD CHAMPION. IT IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND HOW HE AND HIS SPELLS WORK. THATS WHY HE IS AN EASY CHAMPION TO PICK UP FOR NEW OLAF PLAYERS/LOWER ELO PLAYERS - AFTER THE FIRST GAME YOU KNOW HOW TO CLICK. THE HARD PART ON OLAF IS USING HIS KIT TO THE MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.

2. WHAT IS HARD ON OLAF
AFTER BEING NIDALEE OTP FOR HUNDREDS OF GAMES AND OLAF OTP FOR EVEN MORE GAMES IN MY OPINION OLAF IS HARDER TO PULL OFF THAN NIDALEE WHEN PLAYING AT HIS PEAK POTENTIAL. ALL OF OLAF'S SPELLS/RUNES/ITEMS INCREASE HIS LOW HP OUTPLAY POTENTIAL. LOW COOLDOWN SPELLS WITH HIGH ATTACK SPEED AND NECESSITY FOR CORRECT SPELL/ITEM TIMING MAKE HIS OVERALL APM ACTUALLY COMPARABLE TO CHAMPIONS LIKE CASSIOPEIA. YOU MAY HAVE ISSUES CLIMBING IN HIGHER ELOS IF YOU DO NOT LEARN OLAF TO NEAR PIXEL-PERFECT LEVEL. IT IS A CHAMPION ON WHICH IT IS WORTH USING 100% OF YOUR ATTENTION SPAN WHEN FIGHTING. IT IS A HARD CHAMPION BECAUSE HE HAS SO MANY THINGS HE CAN MESS UP COMPARED TO FOR EXAMPLE NIDALEE - WHO PRETTY MUCH CAN ONLY MISPOSITON/MISS Q/MESS UP COMBO/MISCALCULATE DAMAGE. OLAF IS ONE OF THE MOST (IF NOT THE MOST) "FEEL-INTENSIVE" CHAMPIONS INGAME. HE IS HARD BECAUSE IN ALMOST ANYTHING YOU DO ON OLAF YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FEELING FOR IT - WHETHER YOU CAN DEAL ENOUGH DAMAGE/HEAL/HOW MUCH YOU CAN TANK ETC/WHEN TO ULT/WHEN TO USE W/WHEN TO USE GOREDRINKER/WHO TO FOCUS ETC. PUTTING TIME INTO OLAF PAYS BACK. THE BETTER THE PLAYER, THE BETTER THE CHAMPION.

3. OLAF ACTIONS HE HAS TO CONSISTENTLY DO IN FIGHTS:
- TIME AUTOATACKS ON CONSTANTLY CHANGING ATTACK SPEED
- MOVE TOWARDS ENEMY CHAMPIONS WHILE AUTOATTACKING
- TIME, AIM, HIT AND CATCH Q INBETWEEN AUTOATTACKS
- POSSIBLY AUTOATTACK RESET W ON LOW HP
- USE GOREDRINKER ON LOW HP
- USE E ON COOLDOWN INBETWEEN AUTOATTACKS
- FOCUS THE RIGHT TARGETS IN TEAMFIGHTS
- WATCH OUT FOR DASHES/SPELLS SUCH AS ZERI E

ALL OF THESE ACTIONS OFTEN HAVE TO BE DONE IN BELOW 2 SECODNS TO MAXIMIZE OLAF POTENTIAL. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO GET USED TO ALL OF THE AFORMENTIONED ACTIONS AND CONSISTENTLY PERFORM THEM WITHOUT STAGGERING/MISSING SOMETHING OR MISTIMING GOREDRINKER/W/ULT.

4. HOW TO PRACTICE OLAF MICRO
IN ORDER TO GET ALL OF THESE RIGHT - WHICH IS NOT EASY AND DOES TAKE TIME - I SUGGEST PLACING EXTENSIVE FOCUS ON YOUR MICRO GAMEPLAY WHILE CLEARING. USE YOUR SPELLS AS EFFICIENTLY AS POSSIBLE WHEN CLEARING TO GET USED TO USING THEM THIS WAY. YOU CAN GO PRACTICE TOOL AND JUST BEAT DUMMY BOT FOR SOME TIME/GO 1V5 CUSTOM GAME AGAIST BOTS. 8. HOW TO MANAGE MACRO ON OLAF
1. OLAF COMPARED TO OTHER JUNGLERS
OLAF IS NOT A CHAMPION LIKE ELISE/NIDALEE/QIYANA. OLAF IS NOT A CHAMPION WHO CAN HOP OVER THE WALL TO GANK. OLAF IS MOST SIMILAR TO SKARNER/MASTER YI IN GAMEPLAY. YOU CANNOT GANK UNLESS ENEMY IS OVEREXTENDED ON LANE, SINCE Q RANGE IS TOO SHORT AND TOO EASY TO DODGE TO GANK LANES WHICH ON OTHER CHAMPIONS WOULD BE EASILY GANKABLE.

2. MEGA IMPORTANT FOR OLAF
OLAF IS A SELFISH CHAMPION. ONLY MOVE AWAY FROM JUNGLE TO LANES WHEN IT EITHER WILL SURELY BENEFIT YOU GREATELY (FOR EXAMPLE ENEMY MID DIES, YOUR MID RECALLS, AND YOU CAN TAKE 3 MID TOWER PLATES / GO FOR LANE TO CATCH CRASHING WAVE). OTHERWISE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CLEAR. THE VERY FIRST STEP TO CONSISTENTLY WIN GAMES ON OLAF IS TO HAVE 8CS/MIN MINIMUM. LANERS CAN GET MAD THAT YOU GO "FULLCLEAR INTO FULLCLEAR INTO FULLCLEAR", BUT THAT IS WHAT OLAF HAS TO DO TO WIN A GAME. UNDERSTAND OLAF IS NOT ELISE. FORCE DRAGONS AND HERALDS IF YOU HAVE ULT. ALSO CHEESE THEM IF YOU KNOW ENEMY HAS NO VISION AND YOUR TEAM CAN MOVE. KILLS WILL COME FROM SIMPLY COUNTERING ENEMY PLAYS. PRIORITIZE CLEARING ALWAYS. IT IS QUITE HARD TO RECOGNIZE WHEN YOU SHOULD MOVE AWAY FROM FARMING AND WHEN DO STUFF ON MAP, SO FOR LOWER ELOS I RECCOMEND INSTALLING MAP TIMERS APP (LIKE UGG / POROFESSOR), CLEARING THE WHOLE JUNGLE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND TRYING FOR PLAYS/OBJECTIVES WHEN ALL CAMPS ARE ON COOLDOWN. OLAF DOES NOT HAVE TO FORCE GANKS LIKE HARDER MACRO CHAMPIONS SUCH AS NIDALEE/ELISE. OLAF WINS BY BEING 3 LEVELS AND 100 CS AHEAD OF ENEMY JUNGLER AND NOT BY HAVING MORE KILLS/ASSISTS. YOU CAN GANK LANES AND SIMPLY HELP THEM PUSH THEIR WAVES BEFORE TAKING AN OBJECTIVE SO THEY CAN MOVE AND HELP. WHENEVER YOU CAN TAKE TURRET PLATES - OLAF TAKES THEM QUICKLY. IN MID-LATE GAME YOU CAN SIDE LANE TO CHEESE T2 TURRETS FOR 600 GOLD. PLAY FOR EXPERIENCE + CREEP GOLD AND NOT KILLS. IF YOU ARE ALREADY EXTREMELY FED AND STOMPING THE GAME YOU SHOULD NOT PERMAMENTLY FARM YOUR JUNGLE. FARM ENEMY JUNGLE INSTEAD. DO THAT WHEN YOU KNOW ENEMIES CANNOT WIN THE GAME ANYMORE. IF YOU STAY AFK YOUR TEAMMATES MIGHT HAVE ISSUES ENDING THE GAME THEMSELVES. PUSH TOWERS WITH YOUR TEAM AND PLAY FOR HERALD/BARON PUSHES TO END THE GAME. MOST OF MY WINS END AT 21-25 MINUTE MARK - AFTER DOING BARON. PLAY FOR ALL T1/T2 TURRETS BEFORE 20 MINUTES, THEN WAIT FOR BARON AND END USING IT. BEFORE 20 PUT ALL OF YOUR EFFORT INTO TAKING ALL DRAGONS AND ALL DRAKES.
9. HOW TO MANAGE TEAMFIGHTS ON OLAF
1. OLAFS ROLE IN TEAMFIGHTS
OLAF IS A CHAMPION WHICH EITHER DIES IN 2 SECONDS OR KILLS 4 PEOPLE IN TEAMFIGHTS. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FIRST AND THE SECOND IS NOT MESSING UP MICRO AND BEING ABLE TO DETERMINE HOW TO PLAY THE PARTICULAR TEAMFIGHT.

2. EASIEST WAY TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY A TEAMFIGHT
OLAF CAN BE COMPARED TO KATARINA. KATARINA WANTS TO GO IN AND GETS SPELL RESETS WHICH GREATELY INCREASE HER OVERALL DAMAGE OUTPUT. OLAF DOES THE SAME BUT WITH TRIUMPH + DEATHS DANCE. DO NOT TARGET MULTIPLE CHAMPIONS AT ONCE. PICK A TARGET AND RUN THEM DOWN UNTIL THEY DIE, THEN MOVE TO THE NEXT TARGET. IT DEPENDS ON THE GAME AND ENEMY TEAMCOMP, BUT THE FIRST TARGET IN ORDER SHOULD BE THE EASIEST ONE TO KILL (FOR EXAMPLE ENEMY SENNA SUPPORT OR TWITCH ADC) - BASICALLY SQUISHY CHAMPIONS WITH NO DASHES WHO DEAL THE MOST DAMAGE IN FIGHTS FROM BACKLINE. BEFORE FIGHTING ALWAYS LOOK TAB FOR ZHONYA/THORNMAIL - DO NOT TARGET THESE CHAMPIONS FIRST EVER. DO NOT WASTE ULT AS MENTIONED BEFORE. IF YOUR TEAM STUNS/CATCHES SOMEONE FROM ENEMY FRONTLINE GO FOR ENEMY BACKLINE ANYWAY. DECIDE WHETHER YOU ARE GOING IN 100-0 OR DO NOT APPROACH ENEMIES - LOSING HP TO POKE CAN LOSE YOU THE FIGHT BEFORE IT EVEN STARTS. IN SOME FIGHTS YOU WANT TO STAY FRONTLINE OF YOUR TEAM AND POKE WITH MAX Q RANGE - THE SLOW MIGHT BE ENOUGH FOR SOMEONE FROM YOUR TEAM TO FOLLOW UP. FOR SUCH A POKE PLAYSTYLE GREEN PET IS BETTER. YOU FINISH IT AT AROUND 15 MINUTE, AT WHICH POINT YOU DONT NEED TO BE THAT MOBILE AROUND THE MAP SINCE GANKING PHASE WILL USUALLY HAVE ALREADY ENDED BY THAT TIME. RED PET JUST OFFERS DAMAGE, SINCE THE SLOW PASSIVE IS JUST OVERRIDEN BY OLAF Q SLOW. GREEN PET BONUSH SHIELD COMPENSATES FOR THE FULL DAMAGE (BRUISER) BUILD I RECCOMEND IN THIS GUIDE. IT EATS UP SOME OF THE POKE WHILE APPROACHING ENEMIES. ANSWER: IT IS A SITUATIONAL ITEM. IT DOESNT GIVE HP, SO YOU CAN GET ONESHOT BY ENEMY TRISTANA IF YOU BUILD IT EARLY. I NEVER BUILD IT, BUT IT IS FINE FOR 4TH/5TH/6TH ITEM AGAINST HEAVY AP LIKE SYNDRA + KARTHUS. IMO ITS NOT THAT GOOD, AS YOU CAN GO STERAKS WHICH GIVES SAME SHIELD BUT AGAINST ALL DMG + HP. OMNIVAMP FROM MAW OF MORBIUS IS NICE BUT IT IS JUST NOT ENOUGH FOR IT TO BE A MUST-BUY.

6. QUESTION: TEAM FLAME ME I ONLY FULLCLEAR WAT DO
ANSWER: IF ANYONE PINGS YOU FULLMUTE INSTANTLY. LANERS (ESPECIALLY LOWER ELO) IN MOST CASES DO NOT RECOGNIZE THAT DIFFERENT JUNGLERS HAVE WAY DIFFERENT PLAYSTYLES. SO THEY EXPECT OLAF TO WALK TO THEIR LANE TO HELP THEM PUSH OR COVER OR WHATEVER OR GO FOR A DIVE.
