Leona
If you happen to have leona as enemy support, past level 6 you should not go out before her all-in and even then, you are still in danger of getting hit by her Q. Legit perma ban her if you can't time your W.

The best partner. Literally works like a charm with itemization and yuumi's kit.

Champion Build Guide
I'm an avid yuumi player and support laner. I made my debout in League of Legends in 2014 but started playing Ranked in 2016 maining

I've played Yuumi on most ranks. I've peaked Rank 5 EUW with Yuumi and Rank 10 on EUNE. Multiseasonal Diamond , peaked Diamond II with low Masters MMR and as of now I have over 2 million points on Yuumi, around mastery level 180. I mostly main ardent supports on my elo and a few mages and assassins on lower elo. I've been playing Yuumi since her release and I enjoy ARAMs when I don't feel like ranking up.
My favourite champions besides

This is kinda a rushed guide and not a very comprehensive one but it will help you in some way for sure!
Unfortunately, due to her reworks in the past, she is more prone to 1 carry in the team and overall she is not as strong as she was 2 years ago, or even 4 years ago when she was top tier enchanter.

A tip I could give you is, never pre-pick Yuumi in champion pick and avoid first picking her. The reasoning behind this is , many average ADCs watch your pre-picked Yuumi and they get mad or annoyed so they go either off-meta pick to troll or any other pick that is not their main champion pool, subconciously you are affecting the fate of your own game by making them pick something that THEY think would either work better for yuumi (but it probably wont work) or pick something nasty to troll you rather picking what they had in mind before seeing your pre-picked yuumi.
Passive -

- Read what it does.
Q -

- While attached, it becomes almost impossible to land this if your opponents stand directly behind the minion wave, so learn how to do it while avoiding minions.
W -

- Essentially W is your gameplay. It will be the main difference maker between a good Yuumi and a bad Yuumi. Knowing when you have an opportunities to detach, to body block abilities is a game changer.
- Picks like

- This is crucial to understand and execute but it will take time. Keep an eye on all abilities that can inturrupt you and either wait for them to be on cooldown, or bait enemies.
- Unlike the old Yuumi back in 2020, while detaching, you actually dismount slightly towards your own base, and this small distance can be the difference between blocking an ability successfully. You can also go on the different side of a cliff/ledge if that allows it, that way securing yourself an escape artist route.
E -

- Use it once out of the base, to boost you and your adc movement, by the time you arrive on lane, the mana spent will have been restored from your mana regeneration.
- This gives mana to your attached ally, and increases based on missing mana. For instance, many

R -

- Nothing much to say here. It gets pointed from your attached ally. It can overshield and it slows. It gets buffed and nerfed every few patches. It's certainly not as strong as the pre-rework where it also rooted players.
- It's potency is stronger on your Passive buddy, and its also not worth using it if you are not on someone in most cases.
- Cast

Yuumi's itemization changes based on who you DuoQ with, who is going to carry your game after all (might not be your DuoQ XDDD) and what type of CC enemy has. If you don't understand that, read it again.
Before proeeding, please understand that reading any guide or watching any Youtube will not make you instantly a good player of the champion. You will need tons of games and practice to actually understand the concept of Yuumi and how to navigate around her since LoL has so many counter picks for her, you will almost always face challenges in Ranked. So, after reading the guide, go do your practice... NOT in Ranked though!
- At level 1, you buy 2
Health Potion with the
Stealth Ward. You do not buy the potions if you know for sure that your Jungler is ganking you early on bot , that way the
Control Ward will come very very handy and might give you and your ADC a huge lead if the gank is successful.
*To my experience 8 out of 10 times potions are insanely helpful during lane phase where I go out to AA enemies during trades & especially during cheese in Level 1. Do not listen to people that say potions in level 1 are useless to Yuumi, they should shut up, they have no ****ing idea what they're talking about.
- In 9/10 times you start with Q and use 2nd skill point to E. In different case you start with E and then Q.
- In 9/10 times you make
Moonstone Renewer first, unless your DuoQ says otherwise, which in that case, you must also think if its worth it as many Duos tell you to rush ardent censer for example but they end up with no actual lead in the first 7mins of the game so thats where you realize rushing
Ardent Censer was not a good idea.
- During lane phase you need to be careful when to go out and clear
Stealth Ward. Do not go deep in the enemy bush alone, even with vision, you might get killed by CC and by the time your ADC wakes up and comes to you to W him you'll be already dead. So be careful how far away you go from your own buddy. Remember to almost always hold a
Control Ward
- Always watch what's on cooldown on enemy side. An example, lets say that you have enemy Kai'sa and
Pyke. You don't go out unless you know how to bait his
Bone Skewer. After his Q is done, you can go out poke the enemy or complete relic item by taking minions. During trades, you should be able to time your W to go out and block
Kai'Sa's W
Void Seeker, that would give your ADC a good lead in HP and possibly win the trade. The same goes for champions like
Graves or
Jinx's
Zap!, where you can block some of their stuff away from your adc, giving your adc a good peeling.
- Always watch the mini map and have a sense for jungle routes.
- User your Q, learn how to use it properly and aim it right. Don't over use it, you are mana hungry in most states of the game unless you are using presence of mind.
- You usually do not leave your duo for your jungle DuoQ before you make
Moonstone Renewer, but if you do, pray your ADC won't troll you for leaving them for your Duo.
